well i was just trying to look at old posts to see about shower cleaner and there was a postinng about what to do if your rental was awful. well being a " renter " as oppossed to an owner took a quick look. it was a really long thread so didn @ t read it all but , this family had the house from hell and " agod " ( someone from the forum ) gave his house at no cost to this family . can you believe it ! what a nice thing to do so i hope it all went well and again what a nice man.[clap][clap][clap]

If I remember rightly the guest had booked a home through a tour operator.

Without wanting to be unfair, owners who use an agent like this to rent out their home not only end up with low rates that will not really cover the cost of keeping the home up to a high standard, but are also likely to be uninterested in the home and just see it as an investment.

The result is a home booked in this way is highly likely to be very basic and not half as well looked after as one where the owner does their own bookings and takes a very active role in their home.

Obviously there are exceptions to this and you can book through a tour operator and get a really nice home but anyone can see that it's a lot less likely than booking via a private homeowner.
