Can anyone reccomend a reasonably priced hotel/motel.
Is it better to book when we are there or in advance.?

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Lido Beach. As the name suggests, right on the beach and walking distance to St Armand's Circle.
Not sure what you regard a reasonably priced but I thought it was good value.
