Villa complaint!

I strongly urge people against renting a property through this company.

Arrived at rental villa to find it wasn't clean. We called the management service who came and vacuumed but did not clean further. There were bodily secretions and hairs found throughout the house, as were headlice. Food remains were in the kitchen, there were no clean towels or sheets.

After check-out we received a nasty letter from the villa owner in the UK. The management company said there was damage that we had not caused, and said we had more than the legal occupancy limit staying in the home. At no time did anyone aside from myself and my young children stay in the villa!

The company had entered the home several days into our visit, when it had that "lived in" look and took photographs. [***] then sent those to the owner saying that is the condition in which we left the house. This is not so as the items seen in the photographs are now in my home, 10 hours north of the rental villa!

[edited again] even told the owners we left piles of vomit behind!!!

Sorry to hear about your experience. This is definately NOT the norm when staying in a villa. Normally villas are well cleaned and prepared for your stay. The MC are in charge of the villas in the absence of the owners, so maybe the owner has just got the info from the MC and not heard your side of the story. To me they should have come in the villa and re-cleaned it to a suitable standard. Did you book the villa through this site or direct from the MC?

I am sorry to hear about your time. It would appear the management company don't care about the villa owners or guests. Hopefully, on your next trip to Florida you will rent direct from the owner from a site such as this.

So sorry to hear about your bad experience, and hope you sort the situation out- has the owner heard your side of the story? Hopefully you are not put off, and next time would advise renting directly from an owner from a site such as this, where all the homes are verified and the site owners take guest satisfaction very seriously. Another plus is you can build a rapport with the owner and get a 'feel' for what they are like. good luck.

Is it me or is anyone else more than a little suspicious that someone's first post is one like this - and on a site totally unconnected with the said company.

Whilst I have no doubt there may well be some merit in the comments made, our forums are not here for you to post potentially damaging and unsubstantiated comments about any company or individual in a clear attempt to discredit them. Our forums are here to help promote guests vacationing in Florida and hopefully using our site to rent a lovely luxurious villa that fits their needs and more.

This kind of post just serves to illustrate why someone should book through one of our sites where all the owners have to take an active part in the site, they have their villas verified every 6 months (to make sure they are owned by whom it says they are owned by) and where owners take a pride in the appearance of their homes.

If you have genuine issues with the MC concerned, you should take it up direct with them and the appropriate authorities and not abuse our site in a blatant attempt to discredit them.

I'm locking this thread now as it serves no purpose at all on these forums.
