Just had an e-mail from American concerning an upcoming flight I booked before the hike in UK Departure Tax. They will collect the outstanding tax`at check-in by cash or credit card.
Even longer queues no doubt.

I haven't heard from Northwest yet although its a few weeks before I go.... no doubt we too will get an email.
We spoke to First choice as we didn't want any surprises at the airport on sunday and they said no we won't be charged as they as a company had decided to swallow the cost for people that had already booked.

If you have brought a 'package' (I think this can be just flight and car hire, but not sure)and not just a flight, then they can't charge you
package holiday companies will swallow the cost only if you have booked the full holiday with them. Flight only will not and individuals will have to pay. BA are only company that I know who are not taking this payment.
