    what to wear ?

ok possibly more of a womans question but can i have some tips on what to wear whilst flying, don't know why but i always seem to struggle to get this right [msnembarrased]

our flight will be in march so no doubt it'll be a cold manchester morning when setting off

i like to be casual/smart because i don't do tracksuits or leisure trousers of any kind and i would also like to look fresh and cool ready for that sun when i arrive

sounds simple but for some reason i can never get it right, my dh is no help at all he suggested i fly in the nude or my pjamas[msnoo]

    any tips would be great

I always wear lots of layers when flying to Orlando. That way I can dress up or down to the required temp. If you bear this in mind with whatever styles you like to wear you can't really go wrong. Maybe a longish skirt with a t-shirt/vest top plus jumper/fleece/cardigan would be suitable. If you want to wear warm footwear during the flight maybe a light pair of sandals in your carry on bag could be packed to change into just before you leave the flight. I never take a heavy coat on my flight, just a lightweight water proof jacket that folds up nice and small in my handbag for emergencies. Hope that helps.

i wear a nice flared skirt (tighter ones make me uncomfortable on a long flight, need to wriggle in the seat), and thin top with lightweight jacket, always freezing going to the airport at 6am,

Mizzy I usually where a skirt which I find easier than trousers - and when the loo floors on the plane get scabby ... - I am sure you get my drift!! I find the airport seems to be warm nowadays, and the plane often is, so I wear a cotton or denim skirt, sleeveless or sheortsleeved top with a cardy and take a scarf (pashmina) in case it's cold on the plane. I wear pumps as they are comfortable for all the hiking at the airport, and as you have to take your shoes off sometimes it's easier than anything laced / zipped up.

Last time we travelled I saw a lady in cropped trousers with a bright coloured polo shirt, she produced a cotton jacket and jumper for the plane, and was wearing Tods. She looked very smart/cash - and most importantly looked good on arrival! It was just her and hubby mind you, so no bags full of stuff to entertain / feed the children blah blah.

Mizzy layers are key for all the temp changes etc, I like cropped trousers with a smart top, nice cardy/jacket/pashmina, and slip on shoes for slipping on and off.

Never wear shorts on a plane (not that you would) from a safety point of view and trousers are also better than skirts for the same reasons - thats what we were taught when training[msnwink]

i have some loose long linen mix trousers which i was thinking about also a 3/4 sleeve cotton top (t.shirt material) but i'm not sure i'll be too hot when we land, i'm thinking if the top will be ok for the airport, bearing in mind i'm coming in through the sky tunnel link from the raddison then i may get away without a jacket?

I wear trousers or a long skirt with thick tights which can be taken off when you are about to land. Like the suggestions above, I wear layers, strappy (vest)tee shirt on the bottom, short sleeved tee shirt next and a cardigan. I hate being cold, but as I often go shopping on the way to the villa, like to arrive without the thermals!

I usually wear these trousers Marie, normally with a t-shirt and a cardi. I also prefer slip on shoes but I do keep these on for the whole flight along with very attractive[msnwink]flight socks which I whip off before getting off the plane.

I do like your hubbys idea about the PJ's though very comfy indeed.

I always wear light weight capris and my slip on ked sneakers as they are very easy if they require me to remove my shoes at the airport and a cotton short sleeve top. The slip off sneakers, let me be more comfortable during the flight as I can slip them off from time to time to get more comfortable. I carry a light weight jacket with me just in case. Not that I have as long as a flight as most of you, but I still want to be comfortable.
