Nowdays I prefer trousers and a top in a lightish material but always something relatively smart. I normally also carry a cardi and some comfy shoes after the highheels are banished to the overhead Problem with linen, which I travelled in at Xmas was it was a crumpled heap about 10 minutes after I put it on, 15 hours or so later I looked like crepe paper!

It's always trousers for me - usually casual black ones with a long sleeved cotton top and a chunky cardi for the cold airport and sometimes cold flight. I don't usually get too hot at the other end as you are straight from the airport building to your air conditioned car!!!

I agree with you Julie trowsers top and cardigan,i am always cold on the plane so the cardi comes in handy. As Julie mentioned when you get to Florida the airport is air conditioned as is the car so you sometimes need your cardigan if your husband is like mine and has the air conditioning on cold.

I would always rather be cold at the airport in the UK and then be comfortable for the flight and the heat the other side. I normally travel in sandals and linen. Mel is the same, although we normally do look like crisp packets when we arrive.

I agree about avoiding the linen - I know it is meant to look crumpled but there are limits after a long haul flight! Light weight long trousers, socks!, t-shirt and cardigan for me. And I always have a pashmina as it is so often cold around your neck on the plane.
