    Not Florida but Lanzarote!

Unfortunately we are unable to holiday in Florida this year [msnsad](have gone last 5 years so need to save a bit before definately going back 2008!!). Quite fancied trying Lanzarote instead this year but does anyone have any info about villas or apartment as have never been before - any info gratefully received [msnsmile]

Thanks in advance (roll on 2008 though as we just love Florida and going anywhere else just isn't the same!!)

When we costed villas in Spain it was a staggering £1700 a week just for accomodation. I would think your best bet ould be the Internet and you never know it may well work out cheaper for you to come back to your beloved Forida!![8D]

I agree with the last one FLORIDA it is a lot cheaper than SPAIN as the spanish have put all meals up and even supermarkets are just like UK if not dearer so look at the flights for both as LANZAROTE AND TENERIFE is always dearer than main land spain as one temperature as on same line as FLORIDA if you look on the globe .
So shop around before you deceide as i believe UK is lowering prices to compete with taxes that go in 1 FEBUARY 2007.
You will find that the quality of property is not as good as florida and smaller .

dont do it we went to tenerife about 5 yrs ago, dirty place black sand, cats everywhere constant sellers of rubbish bothering you, bored with nothing to do and had to try to make the best of a bad situation. Its just not florida!

Once you have been to florida you cant accept this kind of subsitute just add the money to florida fund and wait till have enough to get there.

We now would do without till we can go to florida there is no subsitute to the florida dream

We have been to Lanzarote for a week and would not go back again. A week was definately enough.

I agree with Sharon, if Lanzarote is like Tenerife don't go.

I have to admit we really liked it, but its no good staying on beaches, we hired a jeep and travelled around mostly the north of Island which is lovely. Offroading through the Volcanioc landscape in amazing. The north of the island has some wonderful small family run restaraunts. Visiting Manriques homes is very interesting. There is also a natural concert venue in a lava tunnel, by fluke we werer invited to a party there. This party was entertained by Pavaroti, Hose Careres and Charlotte Church -what luck.
You have spend a lot of money to get decent accommodation and private beaches, the tourist hotels are not my idea of fun. Florida would come out around the same price, possibly cheaper for 2 weeks.

We also liked Lanzarote and travelled around the Island. Lanzarote is nothing like Tenerife, in fact all of the Canary Islands are different and offer different things. I prefer Fuerteventura personally, but I have to agree that Florida does necessarily not work out to be any more expensive[msnwink], and the quality of villas is far more superior in Florida.

my daughter has just been to lanzarote and said she wouldnt go back, that kind of holiday doesnt appeal now as she loves florida, we feel just the same we are bored to death going to those places, now we have our villa we dont necessarily go to parks a lot in florida but there is so much to do and the shopping is great, so as you have been several times it wont be as costly as the first couple of times with so many park tickets to buy,so i dont think you will notice much of a difference in cost pat

Although you can't compare Lanzorote with Florida we did have a lovely holiday in Costa Teguise, which is a small family resort. Very peaceful and great for surfing[msnwink]
