I read somewhere that US Immigration will finger print my wifw and I when we travel in march. Is this correct and will they do my childrens as well?

This is correct and they will also take a head shot photo of you. They will do children from the age of 14.

Are you sure it's 14 for kids? My youngest son was done when we last travelled and he was 12!

Thanks
I had better be looking my best then!!

It is hard to look flattering after that flight Nigel, but worth a try!! My daughter was not finger printed at Easter, but was in October, she turned 14 in September!! She was very excited by the whole experience for some reasonKids!!
How long does the process take? Does it add to the queues?
I hate long queues, especially after a long flight.

I am certain it is 14 years, she turnd 14 in on May 7th and we travelled on May 25th. She had to do a fingerprint and picture then. But when we were out at February she didn't , but the Immigration guy told her she would probably need to the next time she visited.
It only takes seconds - you just place your index fingers on a scanner and they take a head shot with a fixed camera - it takes longer to stamp the passports than to take the photo and scan your fingers.

It's not fingerprinting as you might be imagining from the movies, it's a fingerprint scan, so if you've been to Disney or Sea World you'll be familiar with the scanner anyway, you just have to place left and right index fingers separately on the scanner. Doesn't add any more to the queues than a couple of extra questions would and most of the time it's just however many planes have landed at the same time that determines the length of the queue.
Over 80 year olds aren't fingerprinted or photographed either so it's only the 14 - 79 year olds.
