hi sue , i don' t own a villa so i am speaking just as some-one who holidays in florida , but it might be the owner has less bookings than they tought so to fill it up they reduce the price, or could think demand is high , as my husband always says to me if you are happy with the price you paid look no further. have to admit i still double-check but think he is right !!! anyway enjoy it , sure you will have a ball

I'd agree with Mary. If you were happy to book at the price you did (which you must have been as you booked) then I can't see the issue. This kind of thing happens all the time in the shops but I would not have thought anyone would take an item back and expect a refund of the price differential.

I have to say I think any owner who drops their prices year on year is totally mad. Utility bills go up year on year as do lots of other costs involved in owning a villa. An easy way to financial suicide if you ask me [msnsad]

You always get that in retail if the goods are not moving fast they sometimes reduce the price ,But sometimes they go up as well as they say before if you were happy with the price then it is well worth the price you have been asked ,On this site all villas are verifed so you know it is from an owner not a package company which you may get a bad shock the one you were offered .
Enjoy your holiday I am sure you will ,Take a print of if you have a printer then you can look at daily and look forward to the day you go .

    Thanks Everyone,
It was just a bit of a shock[msnoo] when I noticed the price change.

But I am more then happy with the villa and can't wait to go and see it in person.

    Thanks again

    Sue,
thats why I never look at flight prices once we've booked. I'm sure B.A. or Virgin wouldn't consider a rebate if they dropped their costs at the last minute or in a sale and you had booked earlier at a higher price.Equally I'm sure you are still geting a very competitive cost compared to a hotel etc.

Good point Andrew. Nothing worse than seeing something cheaper than you have just bought it for. On the other hand, great feeling to see something go up in price when you have already bought it.

Sue, Although I cannot understand why any owner would reduce their prices, as utility bills continue to rise, you have to look at it that the price could also have risen and because you had already signed a contract with the owner, the price you agreed to pay would not rise.

Also, are you sure that the price you now see on the website includes all the extras such as pool heat and taxes. Your quote from the owner will no doubt include everything.

If it were me I would check it all out thoroughly with the advert and then the owner Sue. Before contacting the owner I'd make sure that he/she wasn't just "restructuring" the rates in order to initally make his/her home look cheaper. Some owners like to price this way. For example is tax included or excluded from the rates advetised? If excluded, then this alone would add around 12% to the total rental rate advertised.

If the home, with everything that you are paying for, is definitely cheaper (once you've checked everything out) then I would be very concerned and would certainly be in contact with the owner about it. Any owner advertising a home with prices for 2007 that really are less than 2006 prices needs investigating to find out if they will still be owning that home when you intend to visit!

The cost of owning a home in Florida rises each year, and in 2006 there were some hefty increases in both utilities and property tax, which are being carried over into 2007, so reducing rates for 2007 rings big alarm bells with me!
