We did the Princess party there last May for my daughters 4th birthday. One word to describe it, was very expensive. My daughter loved it but it set me back almost $400 for 4 adults and 4 kids.
The food was good as was the service.

Betty's is one of my favourite places to nibble here in York, I can't go into town without popping in for something or other. Off to the cookery school in Harrogate later this year to spend some of my hard earned cash for 2 weeks of culinery delights...yum[msnsmile2]

Must make the effort to try some Afternoon teas next trip to Florida as I love them, esecialy the delicate litte sandwiches.[msnembarrased]

We bought my Mum a day at the Grand Floridian Spa for her Christmas/birthday and when she was done she and another lady she met in there went in for Afternoon Tea. She says it was lovely but can't remember there being any kids. She didn't think it was the kind of thing kids would enjoy. But I suppose that depends on the children! It was very quiet and relaxing she said and the food was delicious! Just a perfect end to her spa day.

children must be welcome because there's a childs choice on the menu and it's the nice quiet and relaxing atmostphere that attracts my youngest[msnsmile] my oldest child, well that's a diferent matter, but we have tactics for that

Mizzy, if you would like some more information on Afternoon Teas at the Grand Floridian we have written an article for the Orlando Guide, please click this link http://www.onlinefloridavillas.com/o...ew-lounge.aspx

We have an afternoon tea (or two) on every visit and always thoroughly enjoy them. We have seen tables with children, very often Mums and daughters (probably whilst Dads and sons go off and do something else!) whilst we have been there and the staff do make the children very welcome.

I would make a reservation, if you definitely want to visit, so that you are not disappointed if you turn up and they cannot accommodate you.

We sued to do this around twice a month when wilived over there. Its really nice and the childen loved it. They do a good one at the Ritz Carlton too. I would not hesitate to atke childen into any Disney Hotel for food, the exception being Victoria and Alberts, wherby exceptional behavior would be prudent!!

    hi
has anyone been for afternoon tea in the garden view lounge at the GF

i was wondering if it's ok for the children (they love places like Betty's) or if it's a little too stuffy

    thanks Mizzy

I agree with Martin about the Ritz Carlton, who do a top level afternoon tea, like Bettys.
You can use valet parking for free by asking for your ticket to be validated by your server before you leave.
