US citizens require passport for canada/mexico etc

Snippet i found when searching for flights. From January 23rd 2007 US citizens when flying to canada, mexico, central + south america, the Caribbean and bermuda will require a passport. Not sure if this is a change or not. From 2008 this will also apply to travel by land or sea.
