    Coming Home

I hate coming home day – I always want to cry – who am I kidding, I usually do cry [msncry]
Took our bags to DTD check in, it was a bit cool but it was funny to see most of the check in staff wearing woolly hats and gloves…
Once rid of our cases we went to Perkins at Buena Vista for breakfast, I had the tremendous twelve [msntongue](well I did have to make the most of my last one). It was hotting up when we came out so went to Celebration. I spent a blissful few hours in a rocking chair soaking up my last rays of sun. It got hotter as the day went on, a really perfect November day – so hot I did burn my nose and shins slightly despite lots of sunscreen [8D] You couldn’t really tell on my nose though as it was already very red as a result of my cold…

Left my lovely car at the airport and headed straight to the gate. Disappointed to see that our flight was again delayed by an hour and a half!! Spent lots of dollars in duty free and sat very bored wishing they would hurry and get us on the plane.
We’d booked premium economy for the return flight so was able to get almost comfortable enough to sleep most of the way. The air on the plane completed dried my runny nose and lots of sweet sucking stopped me coughing too much.
Was surprisingly mild at Manchester and reasonably bright when we landed about an hour and a half late. The up side of this was that we’d missed the worst of the rush hour traffic and had a reasonable drive home.

Once off the plane my cold had re-appeared and I felt pretty miserable although I was pleased to get back to my new home again – mess and all.
Spent the rest of the day lounging around – I would need my strength tomorrow for moving furniture and beds in preparation for the bedroom fitters next week. Shattered though I was I managed to stay awake for a girly night in at my friends, where I kept up the eating with an Indian takeaway washed down by a bottle of wine or two – before a much needed long sleep [zzz] [zzz]

And that’s it – the end of another trip [msnsad]
It was a shame that I was not too well for some of the time but it didn’t spoil my holiday. The worst thing was not enjoying the food as much as I usually do. I must confess to my OV slimming club friends that I did very little exercise. On my last trip I walked, jogged or swam every day but just did not feel up to it this trip

The weather was not as hot as I remember it being last November but it was still good – we were able to spend time in the sun most days and did have some hot and sunny days and not too much rain.

Other things that happened in Florida while we were there, the elections, sad news about the Gatorland fire, there was a tornado somewhere in Seminole county, afraid I can’t remember where exactly. Also a lot of tv coverage of fires in California where sadly fire fighters lost their lives.

Anyone who has stuck with me, well done [msnsmile], thanks for reading it all - I know this wasn’t an action packed trip report as many are – so hope I haven’t bored you too much with my report of food, shopping, illnesses and not much else – but for us that’s what makes a brilliant holiday…….

Hope I get the chance to do it all again

AND I’M STILL CRAVING CHEESECAKE!!!!! [msnwink] [msnwink]

Liesa, we can't make plans too far in advance - as you know it all depends on Mum & Dad's health - but all being well we would like to go back again next year - so keep everything crossed for us!!!

Thanks folks for saying you enjoyed the reports - makes it worthwhile taking notes and posting. I love reading about other people's holidays too.

Mizzy the tremendous 12 is, I think, 4 pancakes, 3 eggs, 4 meat (ie sausage or bacon) and your choice of potatoes [msntongue]
Got to say IHOP is my favourite breakfast though [msntongue]

I like the breakfast potatoes at Perkins or hash browns [msntongue]
They will let you have toast or something instead of potatoes I'm sure [msnsmile]

I enjoyed reading your report. Sounds like you still had a really good time even though a few things did not go exactly to plan. Any report about Florida makes interesting reading.
