I'm a little late posting this, I haven't been too well since we got home, think it could be the Florida withdrawal symptoms[msnwink]. We had a lovely couple of days at the end of our holiday and managed not to overstuff ourselves with all the glorious food.
I'd thought I'd save my favourite park while last - big mistake! Everywhere was heaving and all the fast passes had been long since distributed, so we didn't manage to do much at Epcot. But worse was to come[msnscared][msnoo][msnscared]I went off to Japan and the snow cone machine wasn't working.[msnmad] Now you have to understand my obssessive compulsion to eat these to know how distressing this was. [msncry][msncry][msncry]To say I was very disappointed is an understatement. Looking on the brightside, in order to get over this mindblowing disappointment, I've had to start looking towards planning another trip[msnwink].
On our final morning which was Thanksgiving, we were at DTD to check in with Virgin at 7.50 and believe me it was freezing and we weren't the first in the queue either, there was at least half a dozen families in front. At 8.30 we were still waiting for the check in staff to arrive. 9.00 o'clock came and still the staff were slow-timing and by this time there was a huge queue behind us. We eventually made it to the front of the queue for about 9.25. Handed over the paperwork, documents, passports and lo and behold we were told that there were only 5 of the 6 of us booked on the flight. We were horrified. After about 10 minutes they managed to find my Mum on the system but told us she would be sat a great distance away on the flight[msnmad][msnmad][msnmad]. As my Mum is an OAP who had had to book in ahead with special assistance we weren't very happy about this. It was like a repeat performance of our outbound flight. 5 of the party had special needs and medical problems that meant we'd had to book months in advance and go through all the medical checks with the airline, yet right at the last moment they'd messed up again. The check in assistant told us there was nothing they could do.
We had no option but to go to the airport hours before our flight to try and sort out our flight. After great length and much messing, we eventually were told we could be split into two threes at about 3.30 in the afternoon. It wasn't the pleasantest of our last few hours in Orlando but at least we got it sorted eventually.
When we finally made it onto the plane. Someone who considers himself to be something of a superstar came swanning down. I'll mention no names but he consider's himself to be Diana's Rock.
On our flight home we were told that hubby's meal had not been loaded on the plane and could he eat a low fat meal? Errr no, he's a coeliac.
Needless to say our previous good service with Virgin has been seriously damaged, and I think next time we'll be looking towards flying with BA
