    Julie's Days 1 to 3

Unusually I didn’t wake early on our first morning, can’t remember what time it was but I know the others were unpacked, dressed and ready to go out for breakfast.. [msntongue]
Couldn’t wait to have the first of many IHOP breakfasts – we were quite touched that a lot of the staff and the manager of the IHOP remembered us and were pleased to see us again [msnembarrased] (well so they said!!)
Didn’t need to see the menu, I knew I wanted the country omelette with pancakes and a large OJ and it was every bit as good as I remembered… [msntongue] [msntongue]
Went home to unpack and then spend a few hours relaxing by the pool. It was a hot day but overcast so I spent most of the time by the pool reading and doing sudukos.
Went for Chinese tonight and really enjoyed crispy honey shrimp, mu shu pork, cashew & almond chicken and special fried rice followed by bannana spring rolls with ice cream & toffee sauce – delicious [msntongue] [msntongue] Back to the villa where the driver then enjoyed a drink or two [beer]

Saturday we woke up to rain which had been forecast but worse still I felt poorly [msnsad] Didn’t feel sick but felt bloated and full and not like eating in the slightest. Again the others were dressed and ready to go and all I want to do was lie down, but not wanting everyone to miss out we set off again to IHOP where much to the surprise of our waitress I only ordered coffee and toast, drank the coffee but only nibbled at the toast [msnsad]
It was still raining so we went to outlet mall at Buena Vista, not buying on this visit – just starting a shopping list
Around 2 it brightened up and as I was still not feeling great we went home and relaxed by the pool. Decided on Red Lobster tonight, I still didn’t feel like eating so I just nibbled on a cheese scone and ordered a starter. We had planned to have a wander around the shops but it was really cold when we came out, so we headed home to warm up with some whiskey and watch tv [beer]

We usually avoid going out for breakfast on Sunday’s but we were up early due to the clocks going back so decided to go to Perkins where we got seated straight away. There I was once again looking at menu and not feeling like eating anything – ordered bacon and pancakes and ate as much as I could manage. It was still early so we had our first visit this trip to Walmart and then back to the villa. This was to be the sunniest and hottest day of the holiday, temps reached 88 which was reported as a tied record high for the day and the sky was cloudless [8D] [8D] – if it wasn’t for my poorly tummy I would have been in heaven. Knowing it was going to get dark earlier we made an early start to DTD and enjoyed a walk around before our first ever visit to Earl of Sandwich. Have wanted to try this place for a while and as I didn’t feel like eating a huge meal this was the ideal chance. We just ordered two between three of us (normally I would have had two to myself [msnembarrased]) we got blt and chicken bbq – both very nice. I couldn’t eat anything else but we went to Ghiradelli’s and I sat and watched the others eat hot fudge sundaes – hoping like mad I was going to be able to make up for all this missed food soon [msncry]
Then went across to Westside and looked around the shops there before going home. Couldn’t even face any alcohol tonight [msnoo]

Oh Dear Julie, no one likes to be poorly, especially on holiday. You seem to have battled on though, what a trooper

Nice report Julie, sorry to hear you were ill.

Strangely enough, my hubby (who is over in the States)had exactly the same thing. Went for a meal one night, then couldn't face food for the next 2-3 days. Mind you, he had ordered steak and salmon combo and got 2 huge salmon steaks - that might explain his problem.

Look forward to next report, and hope you had recovered by then.
