We used to do a package to EUROPE and then to FLORIDA and never were satisfied so we did our own thing .
With a flight and hotel you have no facilities so getting a villa you have all facilities plus your own pool and also you can shop around for flights near the time .
Book your villa as there are some lovely villas on these sites if you need school holidays they get booked up soon , Flight companys do special deals now and again you just have to keep looking .
Good luck enjoy your holiday .

There is a link "Flights to Florida" at the top of this forum. I would definitely recommend giving them a try![]()

Unlike most things the scheduled airlines seem to work on the later you book your flight the higher it is. They have a certain amount of cheaper seats which are released early and then as those are sold the prices get more expensive so the best bet is to try and book them as early as possible. the company used by this site on the link get an early allocation on lots of flights so its well worth giving them a call. Charters are sometimes easier to pick up last miunte as they try to sell all their seats so will sometimes have some late deals but its hard to plan when you dont know if you can get your dates etc.
If you are restricted to school hols unfortunately there dont seem to be many bargains at all to be had. They have a captive market and if you wont pay the price they quote there will be someone who will.
check out all the usual suspects - teletext/internet and brokers. for me teletext is usually quite good. also this site has a link to charter travel and they get good deals with virgin etc at different times of the year.
you dont say when you are looking but you can fly very cheaply in the winter/ away from crimbo etc. obviously main holidays are expensive but try going a week early etc or end of august into september(sparks the kids out of school debate!!) and this can save you a few quid.
carhire - this site is one of if not the cheapest site avail. they use dollar and alamo and these seem to be the favoured choice.
i once took a cheap fly drive £99 thru my travel and cancelled the car and was able to book a lot cheaper here.
however in saying that... some brokers do virgin deals which include a car and because they are including the car its very often the cheapest in town. these are hundreds cheaper than virgins own website.
on villas , you can book one anywhere, but if you need to make sure that your accomodation and ulimately your holiday and impression of florida is great, then use one of the 3 links on this site. you really cant go wrong as they are regularly vetted and a high percentage are cared for like its a home from home.also make a list of needs and wishes ie pool with coloured lights!!, games room, location, tv in bedroom, spa, etc etc
enjoy the hunt and dont jump at the first deal you see, but remember the better/loaded villas can go quickly [msnsmile2]

Your best bet is to decide approx when you want to travel then keep a very close eye on all the main airline sites plus the one advertised above. They do have offers but one can never tell when and they usually only last a day or so so you have to be quick. Often newspapers will have an offer as well.
Sometimes you will find its much cheaper to fly into a different airport like Tampa instead of Orlando. Flights with a stopover will usually be cheaper.
Another thing to look for with flights is flying non-direct and connect via an American airline's hub, they can often be quite cheaper and not much longer in journey time.
Cheap flights can depend on the time of year you want to go.
Lots of package carriers allow you flight only or flydrive where you can book flights at reasonable prices.
Even the major carriers have good deals going at different times, just keep searching the internet.
Beware of of those that offer cheap fares but high car hire cost. The carhire link site offers one of the best deals around.
Making the switch from hotel/package to villa rental is how the vast majority of owners decided to buy, so much more freedom and more relaxing renting a villa.
Good luck with your search.

Hi,I am off to Florida again next October and I have used the above link with charter travel booking with Virgin.I spent a lot of time going through the internet searching for the cheapest flights.Travel City Direct came up as one of the cheapest ways of crossing the pond including a car.I also had a quote from First Choice which was for a package (flight, car hotel)and this was cheaper than a flight on its own with First Choice,I spoke to a rep and said I might use this and not book in the hotel she told me this happens quite alot. After a lot of thought and traveling with Virgin last year plus working Airside at Gatwick I went for the Virgin Choice with the link above.Travel City were very cheap but I liked the service I had with Virgin (Booking in the night before)service on the Aircraft Ect.The deal I got was very good compared with the quote off the internet via Virgin.Have done car hire through this site as well as I have not found another company this cheap
It pays to look around ,if you want to get there cheap I would say Travel City Direct,if you want a bit more class and more reliabilty choose Virgin or BA.When I mean reliabilty if on the day you travel the aircraft you are due to travel on goes Tech(breaksdown)the bigger airlines like Virgin/BA are able to change thier aircraft flying programme around to accomadate that flight.
Cheers
Jon
