    feeling disheartened

Me and my family have booked a trip to Florida, July this year, normally we wouldn't go July but due to it being my sons last year at school and exams and all that, it worked out that way.
He has found out today, that his prom will be on while we are away, it is also my other son's last year at Junior school, he is going to miss his leavers assembly[msnsad]
I feel so gutted for them both, these are both dates they will never re live again, I know Florida is great and all that but I still feel downhearted by it all, I have booked through this site (Charter travel) So no changeing flights either, just thought I would come on here and let my feelings out.
There I have done it. I don 't feel better but there isn't a lot I can do about it[msncry]
    Rant over[msnsmile]

Oh What a shame, is there no way you may change the flights. This is something that would happen to me. You seem to be doing the correct thing by booking a great holiday for them and book the wrong dates
Maybe you should check if you can change the flights?

Hope you work it out ,There may be admin to change flight and it can be up to £100 per person if not for a very good reason .
It happened to us a long time ago and you are making a new contact .

My experience of Charter Travel was there was def no changes which is why I don't use them.[msnmad]

I may have to pay more booking direct with Virgin or BA but at least I can change my flights for a small admin charge usually around £30pp. We have done this many times from the UK and also once whilst out in Florida we extended our return and its worth its weight in gold[msnsmile2]

I know you will be feeling bad but if it means that much to you it maybe worth losing the deposit and re booking, if not unfortunately that's it[grouphug]

aww Vicki after all the effort you've put in, i hope you can sort something out [msnsmile]

i think the leavers assembly will not be too big a deal for your youngest especially when he gets to florida and in the villas pool

but the prom, why not offer your oldest son a prom type party in the house with limo trip for him and a few friends, call it a vip private party and make a memory for him (yes it's going to cost but it may just save the holiday)

you could have the party after the holiday[msnwink]

vicky-i think that mizzy's is a great idea-i know that particularly for your eldest it might seem like a great loss missing his prom but in truth all 3 of my girls had forgotten it happened within a few days-they would much rather have had a great holiday-don't forget his real friends will be there when he gets back!

<ake a fuss of him that day and let him decide the agenda-he'll love it

sorry to hear Vicky, but mizzys idea is fab!!!!!

could you afford to do a hall party and invite many of his friends and get them to dress the part as if a new prom!!!!

How about doing "something Special" for the time when they should have been at their special events......something they will remember.

Limo to or from somewhere......or find something that they are really interested in and arrange to do this.

Thanks for all your ideas, I will have a chat to the eldest and see what he says, I think a party for him and his mates sounds great.
Thanks for the ideas Mizzy, I realise we can't change the hol arrangements, I have my brother and his familt to think of too, so we will make the most of it and I know we will definately enjoy the holiday.
I knew I could count on you guys.[clap]
    Again, thanks[msnsmile2]
