    more about spending money

hi guys another post about spending money.
as i have posted earlier i was made redundant and just started a new job, i have been buying dollars lately as the rate is good and now have 5000 dollars, do u think this is enough for 3 weeks 2 adults 2 teenagers? i have bought park tickets so this is for eating shopping etc we will prob eat breakfast most days in the villa, just wanted to check it out as i dont want the boys to lose out on shopping etc.
every other time we have been money hasnt been a problem and i can never remember what we spent before.
    thanks
    Carrrie

I would have thought you have enough there Carrie, have a CC handy just in case but I don't think you will need it.

    hi Carrie

i think the spending money has been discussed before on the forum so it may help if you did a quick search

personally i gave my children their money up front and then they where encouraged to budget, but they where only 11 and 9yrs, with teenagers it could be harder, but saying that if they know they have a limit it will help you and make them think about the cost of items more rather than just expecting mum with a bottomless purse to buy everything and anything they desire

we took just over $5,000 for two weeks and where very suprised to find ourselves taking quite a chunk of it back home(almost $1800)

we did everything we wanted to and that included eating at quite a few "signature" restaurants, character brekkies, dine with shamu, $$$ spent of photos/dvd in dis cove, dinner shows and despite me protesting to dh that i hadn't spent much, i still had to buy an extra lge suitcase to get all my new stuff home[msnembarrased]

I would say you have enough with $5000 this is purely for food, shopping and any extra activities
I would suggest if you can stretch your finance's buy a few more dollars maybe 1000
Will be there as a safe guard,if you don't need them will be a good start to your next trip to Florida
The exchange rate is excellent you can't lose ,at the moment [msnsmile2]

When we went for 3 weeks in the summer we had around $4000 and that worked out fine for the 4 of us.

CARRIE We took a my cousin for 3 weeks and her comment was it is hard to spend it all ,There had never been to USA before and did not know how much cheaper it is there ,
As you have children some places they eat free and look for the coupon books coming out of walmart for the restaurants and other thigs to do ,
Iam sure you will bring money back also enjoy your holiday .
