do you recognise the coins yet ?

    you know the situation

when you first go over you have to read the words on the coins to find out what they are

when do you feel you can select them in your change like a pro

When you can drive up to an unattended toll booth and fling the right exact change into the hopper without causing a two hundred yard queue behind you Tezz!!

By the way, a friend recently gave me a gold coloured one dollar coin....anyone know if these are still in common use ?[msnsmile2]

Never, I am the not so old Biddy who stands in a shop with a handful of coins held out for the assistant to help themselves,

Same with us Kym, although Fraser gets his head around the coins by the time we are coming home. Probably because he doesn't want a pocket full of US change.

I did that for a packet of biscuits to go with my coffee, and the gent behind the counter sighed and said "they are on the house".

Mind you I had been waiting for my coffee for 20 mins and had to go remind him about it.

I got 2 one dollar coins on our last trip - apparently they are unusual though.[msnwink]

I am a great believer in " Small Plastic Sandwich bags.[msnwink]

I have calculated the toll costs from the airport, and other items like coffee, chicken tenders etc. ....bags of ** 75cents ** 1 dollar ** 25cents
all ready for use and topped up ready for the next day trip out.

With "mole vision" (it's a senior thing ) I hate having to fiddle around seeing what small coin is what... in some way this solves the problem.

    Me too[msnembarrased]

I always end up with a purse bursting with coins.

The lady in Yankee Candle Shop saw them all and very kindly spent ages counting them all out, it was amazing how much they came too. Walked out with a much lighter purse.

Toll roads, the purse is passed to the children to sort out.

Self service checkout at Wal Mart or home depot is a great way to use them!!!!

I find I only have to keep reminding hubby that the coin the same size as our 5p is a 10c and the one sized like 10 is 5c and the rest aren't too bad.
