Peabody Champagne Brunch

I promised to report back on our experience at the Peabody Hotel.

The champagne brunch was excellent with so much food to choose from. Our server, Laura, was great and couldn't do enough to help us. I had asked for a 'nice table' and was delighted that we had a window table which gave us privacy. The sun was shining brightly so we were pleased to have the blinds drawn.

We arrived at the hotel at 11 o'clock so that we could watch the Peabody ducks make their way to the fountain. The atrium was quite crowded so try to get there a bit earlier if you want a good viewing spot to take photos. We returned to see them after brunch and found them all asleep.

The cost per person for brunch, including tax, was $38 plus tip.

A very enjoyable experience and a great way to celebrate a special occasion.

We were there too and had a fantastic time - the food was excellent and our glasses were contuinually topped up with champagne!

We usually go to the Renaissance - the food at the Peabody was equally as good - but slightly less choice. The venue is smaller and the tables are grouped in different areas so it was quieter and more personal.

An excellent day and highly recommended.

Incidentally Mary, our server was Laura too - we must have been very close to you!

We did the Thank Giving Brunch at the Gaylord Palms. It was nice but it did lack in selection compared to the Renaissance which we did last Christmas. They did not have any vegetables other than potatoes and no gravy. They do not serve champagne but soft drinks were included in the price which was approx $39 each plus tip.
We did however have a enjoyable time and would return.
Is the Renaissance closed for Brunch until further notice or was it just for thanks giving?

The Renaissance atrium is being refurbed so is closed past at least Christmas unfortunately.

thanks for reporting back, i am planning on a visit into the peabody too and we're hoping to see the parade of the ducks

it sounds like you had a lovely time but unfortunately a champagne brunch would be no good for our family, i don't like the stuff and dh will be driving so we are planning on visiting the b line diner for an authentic diner experience

Mizzy, they also serve orange juice - and again continually fill the glass!
Why not get a taxi though - very good value - much cheaper than in the UK.

i still don't think it would be worth it for us Carole, there would only be one champagne drinker and he'd rather have a beer[msnembarrased] plus we have looked up the diner and think our children would love it

i will take photos though and write a report when we get back, really looking forward to seeing the ducks[msnsmile2]

We went to the Peabody's for Sunday Brunch in Nov, I was a little disappointed we had been 2 years before, when the choice of food was much larger. We had a small incident when we arrived, we were late to meet friends and decided on valet service for the car, my husband got out the car to speak to the valet leaving my grandson who was sleeping asleep in the car & the engine on. You know what happen next the car locked the keys inside including my grandson. It wasn't a warm day and the air-con was on, the valet's called a locksmith who said who would get there in 20 mins, fine my grandson was still sleeping. In the mean time 2 sherriffs arrived who called a fire truck, luckily the locksmith arrived before the fire truck & opened the car costing $100.00. My grandson was still sleeping, he woke up when his mother picked him up out of his carseat to be inspected by the sherriff. Grandson, Granddad, Mother were a little taken a back by the whole thing, (well my grandson wasn't he tucked into to a good brunch) they found it difficult to eat much. The moral to this story never leave an American car running with the keys in & don't be late for brunch.
