    Another time of year question!

    Hey guys,

I'm organising a wedding in Florida for myself and my fiancee, and originally we were going in April 2008 for a combination of the heat and humidity, prices, low park volumes etc. Now for circumstances beyond our control (mother in law! cough cough) we're now looking at June, probably last 2 weeks kind of time.

Is there anything you think we should know about this time of year, i.e. local schools finishing etc? We'll be hoping to avoid any half term UK holidays.

    Thanks in advance!
    Mike

Some US schools do finish in the middle of June, though I think most finish at the end of the month. It is getting hot then the average highs are in the high 80s to low 90s. I would go as early in the month as possible.

Firstly good luck on your BIG day Mike!

The UK school holidays are at the end of May - beginning of June so you should be OK there. As stated above the weather is starting to get quite hot and you'll probably get the occasional down pour but it disapears as fast as it comes on.

Last year we went mid June and the parks were fine, though saying that we went August this year and again the parks were fine.

    Have a wonderful time

I would recommend a little earlier in June, 2nd and 3rd week if possible. A good number of U.S. schools are done by mid-June and as mentioned above, the first week will be busy with UK visitors on school break. The weather isn't overly hot yet and the crowds are quite manageable. Good luck and best wishes with your upcoming wedding!

hi mike there is 1 week for school holiday and the last monday in may always falls in that week and some people keep the kids off school for the next week, so probably 2nd week in june you would avoid uk kids but after that maybe catch the us kids but it is a lovely time of year weather wise, so good luck with the arrangements and all the best for the future pat

schools in florida breaks up for the summer holidays at the end of May. They go back in August. Weather is gorgeous, but humid.. bad for hair.....lol - if you want more infomation on weddings in Florida try www.theknot.com it is a great help on venues etc. The only other major thing you have to think about is hurricane season, this starts in around june, peaking in september.
