    Insurance and connecting flights

    A warning:-

If you are using connecting flights make sure that your travel insurance specifically covers that.

My son and his girlfriend traveled on Globespan to Glasgow but a druck was on board and they had to divert to Maine which meant they arrived at Glasgow 2.5 hours late and missed their connecting flight to Stansted so it cost them an extra £190 to get another flight. The insurance company have come back to day and said that their insurance doesn't cover connecting flights so be warned.

Yeh, good point. Happended to us contecting from a charter to BA up to Scotland and we missed the connection and had to pay for another fare. However, if we travelled with BA all the way they would have got us on the next flight FOC.

Whilst trying to make some headway with this I rand moneysupermarket as I had bought it through them. One of their advisors told me that hardly any insurances cover connecting flights.
