Evening all, lots of entertaining been going on, got a houseful of 7 people at the moment, spent the day looking at care homes, and another one to see tomorrow.

From tomorrow I am going to try and get back on track, but still tons of cake etc in the house - no not me buying it, it came with the tea party yesterday, which then carried on until 11.30pm!

I am least getting out with the hounds every day, so that's something!

Have fun all, was Santa good to you all?

hi everyone i am trying to get back on track today and havent had a lot to eat,i have to admit when i was eating some of the christmas food i was thinking to myself am i really enjoying this or am i doing it just cos its christmas, and i think the answer was the latter weigh in tomorrow evening so will have to keep fingers crossed, and maybe more importantly keep the mouth closed, i hope i can remember these thoughts in a few weeks when im craving wrong food, pat

i'm sure you will keep up with it Pat, you seem to have the right attitude so keep thinking positive and you will get there[msnsmile]

Fiona, not a very nice day for you looking at nursing homes [grouphug] can i ask if you have been told of direct payments as an option to a home? might be worth looking into if you cannot find a suitable home that you are happy with

i'm planning on blitzing the house again today because i cannot believe how filthy it is and how much washing we have built up since christmas, i have done some washing the last two days but obviously not enough

party last night was good, foodwise lots of choice with nice sliced cold meats, seafood and salad etc but alas no desserts for me, it was all chocolate this and chocolate full fat that, my mil did make a fat free sponge cake which my sil promptly cut up and transformed it into a tiramisu filled with full fat cream cheese and alcohol[msnsad] it didn't look very appetising so i wasn't tempted, weigh in tonight between 5-6 and i'm confident that any gain will be minimal

whatever your plans for today ladies have a good one

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. We had a lovely day Christmas Day with 11 guests for lunch. Still seem to have a house full of cake & chocolates. I think I'll leave weight watching to the New Year!
Happy New Year to you all!

OMG weigh in this evening and I know it will be bad news[msneek]

Still lots of goodies in the house and have been trying to get everyone to eat it.

Met Jill on Boxing day and had a lovely walk but afterwards something was very wrong with Bosun. Had to make a dash to the vets with him and they think he had a seizure. He is fine now but we have to watch him, they think it maybe a one off but if he has more they will investigate it. Now waiting for the bill to arrive[msneek]

Peter and I went to friends for a murder mystery dinner last night and had a great time, it was such a laugh. You now have a murderer among you as it was me who did it[msnsmile2]

Spending the day cleaning the house and plan to hit the sales tomorrow, girls are desperate to spend their money.

If I don't manage to get on before the New Year then I would like to wish you all a very happy new year

Evening all, still got an additional 3 staying, MIL goes home tomorrow, we are no further on with the care homes as she is having heart failure at the prices. However the cheap end is awful, and she has the money to pay for a super-doopa one, just would mean eating into her capital which is a no-no as far as she is concerned. (Never mind she will be leaving a load to the Chancellor then![V]) Mizzy I have never heard of direct payments?? She will be paying for hers as her income is too high with her various pensions and capital.

We don't get weighed until next week, this may have been a mistake as no jolt to the system, out with the dogs again, but am beginning to feel I need a trip to the gym to get me going! Not even going to put my food plan on here, as still too much cake, cheesecake etc in the house! Good luck to everyone being weighed, and Julie you are a saint!![angel][clap]

First chance to catch up since Christmas - glad to hear everyone had a good time [msnsmile]

Julie - you are an [angel], hope your class went well tonight?

Mizzy, hope the weigh in brought good news?

I'm sure no-one will be surprised to hear I have been a "little" naughty [msnembarrased]
But have built in a good day or two - honest!!! But still have lots of nibbles, chocolates and drinks all around me [msneek]

sorry i couldn't get logged on last night, little fella hogging the computer

Julie, well done mrs staying the same you [angel]

i put on 1.5lbs and was very happy with that, everything is still very much in control, i'm still a mince pie free zone so nothing to worry about on that score

Fiona, direct payments means more choice than a move to a nursing home, i'm pretty certain that it will be more cost effective as they have to now offer a choice, you can combine care in her own home alongside residential day care and nursing home care in a totally new govt scheme called individual budgets under the direct payments initiative, let me know if you are interested and i will get you a weblink, the quickest way to find out is through social services but as you probably allready know thay are not the most helpful of people

Julieanne, Jeanette and Sally, don't worry if everythings a bit hit and miss at the minute, it's the entertaining season and i'm sure once everyone settles into the new year then any small gains will be gone

have a good one everyone

Mizzy
