We were given ROAST as the password tonight if it helps.
I managed to lose 1/2 lb over the break and decided to set my target weight at 9st 12 which I feel ok about in fact I am just under it so maintaining is now my aim.
Being taken out on monday to buy some new clothes -not looking forward to it at all -I hate clothes shopping .

    good morning everyone

CONGRATULATIONS Janny on reaching and being just under your target, just after christmas too you should be very proud [clap][clap][clap][clap][clap], you never know you may enjoy that clothes shoppping more knowing that you are at target and will be able to fit into the size you want too[msnsmile2]

i'm not a big clothes shopper, i tend to grab handfulls of things that look ok, pay for them and try on at home, a lot gets returned but i feel less stressed this way, i totally HATE shop changing rooms, it's very easy to end up with your bum sticking out of a dodgy curtain and if you do get the item on without exposing yourself then want to come out and look in a bigger mirror there's always a svelte like size 8 kid in the same dress[msnembarrased]

online is much easier, you could try debenhams and next, they usually have a good choice and are always really quick to deliver and better still you can shop in your pj's with a coffee right beside you[msnwink]

Good tips Mizzy thanks .My big fear is I will end up like mutton dressed as lamb and I am very stuck in my way of thinking as regards to what I like and think suits me and find myself reluctant to try new things .I see people in my age bracket wearing things that I just can't imagine my self in but I will try .

Julie I am 5ft 4 3/4 ins tall and 9st 12 puts me just outside the height weight ratio charts (which I don't feel are really an accurate measure for most people )but I am quite happy with it and people last night at class commented that I don't need to lose anymore so we will see how it goes .

I have to get myself ready for my treadmill work had a bit of a break over the holiday period and now how to fit it in between packing up ,getting ready for a short break in Italy and moving house after the 17th of this month so better get on with it .
Have a good day everyone .

i'm very stuck in my ways too Janny, i prefer classic clothes rather then just going for a high fashion look, after years of having to dress for an office i find it hard to "do casual", i nearly always get it wrong

i'm just over 5'5 and i agree with you that the height ratio charts are all off, i'm at my best and look healthy at a size 12-14, if i fall below 9stone 7lbs then i look very ill, i have been a size 10-12 at just over 9 stone and although it was a size/weight i was desperate to be after spending my teens as a 12-14 it just didn't look good on me

i think with age i've got more confident and accepting of who i am, i'm currently a size 16 but i was struggling into a size 20 at one point[msnembarrased] my goal is to be a comfortable size 12-14 but i would happily settle for size 14[msnsmile]

    Mizzy

ps will pop off and get a pic at my biggest but it will only be posted for a few hours before i remove it

very embarrasing i know, this was taken a few years ago at disneyland paris and i wouldn't have been smiling had i honestly known how big i'd become, i think i was about 15 1/2 stone when this was taken

please can i ask that no-one uses the reply with quote option as i plan to remove this picture later today, i'm ok with my fellow slimmers on here seeing it but don't want it posted for good[msnscared]

PHOTO NOW REMOVED, TOO [msnembarrased][msnembarrased][msnembarrased] TO LEAVE ON FOR ANY LONGER

Wow mizzy, how different you look now!(seeing the pictures of you in York)

When I was reading your post, it could've been me reading it! I was 15st 6lb when I started this diet in march or whenever it was, but I too am just over 5' 5'' . After I had my eldest daughter, (during that pregnancy I put on 5 stone!) I lost 4 stone in 8 months and then joined a gym and lost another stone and a half. I ended up being an extremely lean 8st 12 size 10 and although at the time felt fantastic after being so big, looking back on photos, actually looked way too thin. Still, another pregnancy soon sorted that out! I'll be happy to be a size 12-14 now, (when I started I was a tight 20). My problem is that I have quite a thinnish face anyway so when I lose weight it gets even thinner making me look thinner than I actually am! (as long as you don't look below my chin![msnwink])

Better get on with some work now I suppose, catch you all later,

    Julie B
