    CASE STUDY

Mother-of-two Chris Siveter is a self-confessed serial dieter. Over the last four decades her weight has fluctuated between 11 stone and 17 stone and her dress size between 12 and 22.

She first started dieting after putting on three stone during pregnancy.

The pounds fell off and she fitted into size 14 clothes again for the first time in years.

But her resolve did not last and she piled the weight back on.

She tried countless diets including a grapefruit diet, the Atkins diet and even a Cabbage Soup diet but all failed after she went on "sweet rampages".

In 2003 her weight soared to its highest point - 17 stone.

She has now taken up aerobics and joined Slimming World and at 58, is 11 stone and a size 12 - hoping her days of yo-yo dieting are over.[clap][clap][clap][clap]

when i was much younger i was like this too but for me it was always up and down by 2 stone either way and then it got worse i turned to food to cope with other pressures in my life and that resulted in me being my heaviest ever at almost 15stones[msnembarrased]

over the past 15years and for every special occasion i knew exactly what i weighed and looking back that's so sad, remembering an event because of what i weighed and how happy or miserable i felt about my weight at the time[msnsad]

i joined sw for the first time in 1997 and lasted 2 weeks, trying to fit all of the plan into what i allready knew and ate to lose weight before and that was ww ready meals[msnembarrased]

i then joined again in 2003 to go on and lose two and a half stone and for the first time in ages i felt good about myself [msnsmile] then after a bad few weeks the weight crept on and i made the mistake of skipping class with the intention of going back "next week"

next week became two and a half years later and all that weight i lost was back on with another stone to boot

the lessons i've learned from the last decade and a bit is to brave those scales week in and out "no matter what" and to accept that nobody is perfect, some weeks will be good and we'll have plenty to feel good about and some weeks will be not so good and i will need some support and help from others but that doesn't mean i'm a failure

my dad says that you only ever fail when you stop trying and with the right attitude anything is possible[clap][clap][clap]

Pam will dm you our phone number too. We arrive the afternoon of the Diana Ross concert, DH is all for booking but I have been holding off as it will be murphy's law our plane will be delayed. They still have availability at the mo so will discuss with him tonight.

All that I have read about Seasons 52 says it is wise to book, probably not necessary during the week (we have booked for a Tuesday night) but we keep saying we will go and never get round to it - so if it is in the diary we will get there!

Don't suppose you or your DH plays golf? Mine is looking ofr someone to play with, I will post on the golf section to see if anyone is out, otherwise he is dragging me out! Good exercise I guess.

Have got to the stage where I must drink no more or it will not be off by my weigh on, so time to feed the hounds, walk them and then a visit to the vet, oh joy! Also need to crack the whip at sleeping daughter (YD) who is meant to be revising, but her thyroid is getting the better of her!

We did find the bunny - he had got himself stuck behind the fridge in the garage - how embarrassing [msnembarrased][msnembarrased]

We were all pretty worried for a while [msncry]
