Hi all

sorry I have not been around much lately but have had some stuff going on in our family life. And today... well it is not good. My dad has been having cancer treatment and we have just heard that there is no longer anything that can be done, so we are bringing him home.
Afraid as a result have not been concentrating on the diet - but on the good side have not put any back on so still 7lb down. However there Easter target is a no hoper at the mo.

Will get back online when feeling back on track. Well done to all you lot and catch up again at a later date.
Jan and Lee

So sorry to hear of your news Jan, [grouphug] - it's a horrible, horrible thing, will be thinking of you.

Good news for me, went to the doc today and my blood pressure is down to normal for the first time in 10 years[clap] - so I must be doing something right[angel] (ha!![msnwink]). He thinks I must strive on stress, but I can't come off my tablets this side of his retirement (he's about 5 years older than me ...) then he decided when I had less stress in my life ... when my darling gals have left home[msnsmile].

Just off to the office, taking my bulghar wheat salad and carrot & coriander soup with me.

Have a good day all.
Fiona

Jan so sorry about your very sad news[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]

Elaine here are the changes I would make to your food diary (I know it was not the best diary but I am looking at it clinically[grouphug])

Brunch - WM Nimble toasted (HE B) with marmalade (2 syns)I would swap this for something more nutritious ie: porridge, weetabix, shredded wheat, with/or fruits with natural very low fat yogurt, or scrambled eggs/omelette with eggs they are free foods on both days
Tea - Pasta Bolognese (mince HE B) and sauce and half a crusty white roll (5 syns)Again I would get rid of the white crusty bread as it does nothing for you and is not a good use of your syns. If this is a green day which I am guessing it is as the mince was HE, I would make a quorn mince that way you could have as much as you like and save the HE for some thing else[msnwink]
Strawberries, muller light and a meringue nest (2.5 syns)
21g Maltesers (5.5 syns)

The key to SW is to make the power of free foods work for you and to have 80% of your daily intake from free foods, 15% from HE's and 5% from syns.

I would also make sure I was drinking plenty of water, have much more fruit, and where are your HE A's? You need to be having some yog, cheese or skimmed milk for calcium.

What kind of drinks do you have?

Total Syns - 15 to speed up weight loss I would also limit my syns to approx 10 per day[msnwink]

Hope this helps??[msnsmile]

I would also maybe add some more fruit for after my evening meal and maybe a snack later[msnwink] How many syns will you end up having?? Over all its a very good diary[msnwink]

Thanks Julie

Chicken bought from hot food at supermarket so rotisserie I remove the skin myself. Salad - just vinegar.

Jacket potato no dressing

I have measured my milk and it allows me about 8-10 cups per day and I usually drink that on a work day! Boredom!

Steak is grilled.

I don't actually get hungry after dinner even if I'm drinking wine but I get very hungry at work so I like to have plenty of fruit and snacks there.
