i'm a very lazy cook Pat and my chow mein is really simple
it's 2 fillets of quorn microwaved for four mins and then chopped up add that into 1/2 packet of stir fry veg (i like asda mushroom and pepper one) heat in very hot wok with fry light
boil water in pan then add sharwoods med egg noodles (4mins) drain then throw in wok to mix with quorn and veg, drizzle over a supermarket sauce of your choice my personal favourites are ken homs chilli and garlic which i water down and it works out at 2 syns and also asda'a own teriyaki also 2syns
it makes a massive meal in under 10 mins[clap]and if you don't fancy using any syns then cooks helper chilli and garlic or soy sauce which are both free can be used as a good alternative
or if i'm feeling really lazy i pick up the phone and order one from the chinese takeaway 7 syns for chicken chow mein[msnwink]
Julie, i love wedges especially sweet potato ones and i've just bought fancy veg cutter which can cut parsnips into thin slices to make crisps[msntongue]
Jill it sounds like you had a great time at class and i think because Sally dropped you in it, you should now dish the dirt on what her Peter's been up too[msnoo][msnwink]

I am once again apologising for not being around but have had an awful time of it for the last week or so. My mother-in-law was rushed to hospital last Friday and diagnosed with Peritinitus and we were told that she would not survive and it would be very quick[msnsad]. She managed to hang on over the weekend but Monday they couldnt find a pulse. Eventually found a very slight pulse and she received the last rites. Miraculously, she did manage to hang on until Thursday when she died peacefully. Aside from all the sadness of this, my father-in-law has Alzheimers, so it has been a very traumatic time and we can only see even more problems ahead[msncry]. FIL assumed that MIL would come home from hospital as would normally happen, (she had been very poorly and in and out of hospital previously), so it has been a huge shock to him and has turned his world upside down. Although he has Alzheimers my FIL was still caring, with help, for MIL. He seems to be just about coping at the moment but will obviously need careful watching now. The funeral is arranged for this Friday which will be very hard for him.
Having been almost continually keeping vigil at the hospital this last week and grabbing what food we could get, I havnt even thought for a minute about weighing myself. May not be around for a while now either as we have everything else to sort out with probate etc.
I am totally disorganised Christmas wise and not sure I will ever be ready! My own fault for not being organised I suppose, but not looking forward to Christmas now anyway.
Hope everyone has been doing well and Julie's first class went well.
I will catch up with everything as soon as I can.
Karen

Our thoughts are with Karen, take care[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]
Take care Karen, will be thinking of you[grouphug].
Don't know where the last few days have gone, last visit to the hospital pre- radiotherapy treatment on Thursday, not a very nice session for Cat, plus she has an ear infection in that ear so now on a strong dose of antibiotics. Friday at a funeral in Beaminster of old family friend - whizzed past Andover at high speed Janny with mum and bro or might have tried to organise something - however round trip of 9 hours, so perhaps not!
First day of RT treatment tomorrow, so she is getting v nervous, but has kept herself busy by being out all the time, last night at a birthday party (after we had taken them to see Casino Royale - excellent) and tonight at Wembley to see Scissor Sisters. Blood now coming from ear so think we need to see nurse before she starts treatment tomorrow.
Did manage to get a carpet bought today for spare room, £50 delivery and fitting so that's organised for Thursday am, so MIL will have somewhere to sleep when she comes at Christmas.
Diet / food plan - oh haven't done much good this week, lots of comfort food in for her but have managed to resist the mince pies!
Have a good week all.
Speeding past eh Fiona - some people say thats the best thing to do where Andover is concerned [msnwink]
Hope all gets better for Cat enjoy the concert.
