Back home again and feeling blue[msncry]
Here we go-
This year it is myself, husband Peter and 3 daughters Rachel 17, Hannah 14 and Jessica 11.
Stayed the night before at Travel Lodge Gatwick, clean basic rooms and fine for one night. Only £26 per room so can't complain.
Delta 9am flight so an early start[zzz]
Flight to Atlanta was fine and will certainly use Delta again. 777 plane with seatback tv's. I sat with Peter and Jessica and we had loads of legroom, I'm only 5 foot 2 so don't have problems anyway. Rachel and Hannah sat behind us and for some reason they never had much legoom, they are about the same height as me but their knees were nearly touching the back of the seat. Food was fine and a constant supply of drinks were offered. Flight seemed to go quickly. Landed at Atlanta on time and changed planes with no problems. Flight to Orlando was late leaving but it only took 55 minutes so landed on time. It is now 5pm and we are all feeling slightly shattered.
We had joined Dollar express before and picked up the car very quickly. Had ordered a 4x4 and was given a brand new Durango with only 4 miles of the clock. Good job it was for only 2 weeks as it was a real gas guzzler.
We stayed at Regal Palms and just popped into Publix for some milk and a drink for the girls. Got a take away as too tired for anything else.
The next 2 weeks were spent at the parks, shopping and eating[msntongue]
We had 1 day left on our Disney tickets from last year and used that to go to Animal Kingdom just to go on Everest. We all thought it was great and managed to get on it twice. Then we went to Epcot, spent some time going around the countries before going on Soarin and Mission Space. Left Epcot for something to eat and then went to MK to see Wishes. We all loved this.
Spent a day at US, last time we were there I didn't go on The Mummy but I did this time and thought it was great. I of A was another good day and I must have been feeling brave this trip as another ride I went on, which I usually refuse is duelling dragons, loved it although I did keep my eyes closed the whole time. Went on both fire and ice. Was disappointed that the rapid ride was closed. Another day we went to both the parks.
Seaworld was very busy but managed to do most things, although the Shamu show was not on[msncry].
Another day was spent at Busch Gardens, we all enjoy this park, but last year was a little disappointing, loads of things shut or broken down, this year it was great and glad we went back again.
2 days were spent at WetnWild, not so nice to look at as BB and TL I know but they have some good rides and my girls love it.
Shopping, well we did manage to get lots done. We went to The Loop, Florida Mall, LBV, Premium Outlets and Eagle Ridge. I actually didn't buy as much as I usually do, didn't see a great deal that I liked but the girls got plenty, went home with much heavier cases and 2 extra ones.
Food, well we ate out every single night, it's my holiday and I spend the other 50 weeks of the year cooking[msnwink]. Had a few breakfasts out but did do some in the house. Revisited some of our favourites like Manny's and Applebees. Have come home weighing more than we did when we went. Was suprised they never slapped those stickers on us that they put on some cases 'heavy'. Tried Kripy Kreme dounuts for the first time, yum yum[msntongue]
Weather was lovely, temps raning from 82 - 92. Only one morning it was chilly but it soon warmed up. Not one drop of rain while we were there[msncool]
Flight home was good, even managed to sleep for 3-4 hours, something which I never do. Flight from Atlanta had some spare seats so Jessica bagged 2 and was able to lay down and sleep, which left myself and Peter with 3 seats between us[clap]. Food was fine again and landed back at Gatwick 20 minutes early. Managed to stay awake yesterday until 9.30pm, sleeping on the plane helped. Took a Melatonin as recommended on here and slept like a baby last night, I feel I am already back to UK time.
