    ATMs

HI guys - flying out for our honeymoon next Friday (27th) so will probably be posting like mad over the next couple of days as things occur to us that we probably should have checked out long before this!!

Anyway....do any of you guys who have Nationwide accounts know if you get charged for ATM transactions?

    Cheers
    Del.

According to their website there are no charges for using the cards abroad.

We've never had any with ours!

Try this link for more info http://www.nationwide.co.uk/travel/default.htm

oops ignore this post i thought we where talking about a nationwide credit card[msnembarrased]
i thought that there was no charge for using your nationwide card as a debit card but i think like with all credit cards using it to make cash withdrawls that there would be a charge

perhaps it's just a charge in the interest rate on cash as opposed to purchases

Nationwide c/c WILL charge you interest for using an ATM to withdraw cash. You may use their Debit Cad to withdraw cash free from abroad HOWEVER the ATM abroad whose Bank it belongs to MAY charge you via Nationwide to withdraw cash - Confused - will you can only try it and hope for a good rate when you egt your statement!

We use our Nationwide debit card all over and cannot remember being charged certainly not at Walmart and Publix which are the main places we get cash from.

We always use our Nationwide debit card for withdrawing cash from the ATM`s and have never been charged. I have noticed at some of the ATM`s they tell you there will be a charge so I don`t use. Ones we have used that have not charged are Publix and Sun Trust Bank at Celebration. We use our Nationwide Credit card for shopping and no charges there either.
    Have a great time.

    Thanks guys - useful advice.

Now...if I could only remember what I did with the PIN number then I'd be fine!!

The ATM's work differently in that you put the card in and immediatly take it out again, then follow the instructions on screen. I used the ones inside Walmart and outside Publix without any problems. I asked the same questions before I went in March and was told that any machines which did impose a charge would inform you so that you could cancel before transaction went through.

I used my Nationwide Credit Card in Walmart without using my pin number, excellant rates using both cards. Only came unstuck once when using it in another store when the amount I paid was immediately changed into £ so worthwhile checking when handing over credit card that it will go through in local currency.
