    Whats Florida Like In October?

    Hi everyone

Thinking of going back to Florida next year for our fourth trip in a row. We have always gone early to mid September before however we are feeling guilty about taking the kids out of school so much and my oldest starts high school next year.

Therefore we are thinking of doing two weeks in October taking in the half term break so the kids only miss one week of school.

I would appreciate all advice on temperatures, how busy the parks are, will we need pool heat and is there any chance of October being love bug season!!! (They drove us nuts this year!!)

    Many thanks as usual

    Cheers

    Mack

Just spoken to guests in our villa today, weather was a little overcast but warm and yesterday was hot and sunny as they were at Wet & Wild, they have not ordered pool heat and the children were having fun in the pool, so it must be OK. No Love bugs, so I would say a great time to go.

October is a lovely time to go.

you can go to the special Haloween parties at Magic Kingdom, Busch Gardens and Universal too.

The weather is lovely - not too hot, but nice and warm with little rain

Parks are normally less busy too.

Personally I think any month is a good month so long as you are in Florida[clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap]

A couple of days ago they set a new record temperature for that date of 93 degrees. That's not to say that you will always get these types of temperatures, unless global warming really kicks in [msnwink], but you should expect the days to be up in the 80s. Along with that you have that gorgeous sunshine and quality of light, not much humidity during the day and walm balmy evenings by night. It's no wonder that lots of villa owners head over in October.

I would always recommend pool heat for October. The days are warm but the sun isn't really fierce enough to bang a lot of heat into the pool, so I say it's much better to leave that job to the heater to keep the pool at a lovely warm temperature for you. Don't forget to put the blanket on overnight too as the overnight temperatures can drop low enough to take 10 degrees or more of temperature out of the pool without the blanket. With the blanket in place the pool should only lose a couple of degrees overnight and the heater will have that back the next morning before you've noticed.

In our experience, generally over 80 with very little (if any) rain. Maybe we fell lucky (twice).

We have been twice at the end of October for 2 weeks and had beautiful weather in the low to mid 80s and hardly any rain.

It's my favourite time of year.

we have guests there now and it is 93 degrees and warm as has been said before you sometimes need poolheating and put the blanket on to keep the heat on so you can get a early morning swim .
You can always ask management company to put the pool heat on when you get there so no problem .And it is HALLOWEEN in theme parks .

Our daughter was at our villa until the 7th October she said the weather was lovely and they did not have any rain so it is a good time to go.
