Keep positive Carrie. I have known quite a few people who have been made redundant and they have landed better jobs after their redundancy. I am sure something will turn up for you and I hope you are able to still take your well earned holiday.

Sorry to hear you have been made redundant,my husband was made redundant 20 years ago ,he was devastated
He decided to go self-employed,has never looked back the best move he ever made
Sometimes these set backs are for the best.Don't give up, a better position could be round the corner just for you.

Carrie so sorry to hear about your redundancy. It happened to me too and guess what - there is always something better round the corner or waiting in the wings. Don't give up on your holiday until the very last minute and you can be sure that if you think positive something better will happen. I was older too when it happened to me but I still got employed again - employers often prefer the more mature person - more reliable. So take heart and my good wishes go with you
