Thousand Oaks?

Hi all

First post on here....wish I'd known about this site when we went to Florida two years ago!

Anyway, we have booked up for three weeks in November , flying out 09/11. We have booked up for a villa in Thousand Oaks estate Kissimmee, can anyone tell me anything about it, it it miles away from Walmart? Is it miles away from everything as starting to worry. We stayed in Bass Lakes the last time and Walmart was right on our doorstep! No kids to consider, all adults (big kids really) ages 2 x 56yrs, 3 x 30 yrs and 1 x 26 yrs old!!

Thousand Oaks is a beautiful community,but there are hundred of beautiful communities in and around Orlando
Pamela you chose a house on Thousand Oaks because it was special to you,it caught your eye you saw that certain ingredient that said that's the one.
You made the right choice for you. Thousand Oaks has shops close by ,it's not far from the parks.
I have never quite understood the difference between 6 minutes from Disney, 10 minures, 15 minutes,does it make that much difference? I have stayed on many communities all over the Orlando area, some nearer than others to the attractions. By the time you have driven to the parks ,Wal-mart whereever. Parked your car decided what you are taking with you 5/10 minutes has gone by
You have the house you want thats by far the most important factor
Stop worrying you will be fine I can always go in your place.

Since both of my homes are on Thousand Oaks, I am obviously biased and love the place.[msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

You will be around 10 minutes from Disney World and only one traffic light between Thousand Oaks and Disney, so getting there is very easy. It's 2.5 miles to Junction 58 on Interstate 4 and Championsgate where you'll find a superb Publix, restaurants, bank, gas station, CVS, Walgreens and other assorted restaurants and stores. Various restaurants will also deliver food direct to you at the villas. You'll find that you are a maximum 15 minute drive from 3 different WalMarts.

The development itself only has just over 200 homes and meanders through conservation and woodland. There are some splendid and really old Oak trees that give it a lovely mature feeling. It has a beautiful, deep 40 acre natural lake, a part of which has access for those residents/guests who aren't staying in a home bordering the lake. So, if you're into fishing then you'll have a whale of a time here! Plenty of fish, large and small to catch.

It's pretty, quiet and peaceful and the plots are large so that the houses aren't close together.
After all the razzmatazz of the Parks it's wonderful to come home to Thousand Oaks.[msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

Thanks, because I booked it for us all I will kind of feel responsible if the rest of the party don't like it or feel its too far away compared to where we were the last time.
We actually booked through someone who lives close to us and we got talking and found out he had a 5 bed villa over there he rents out so we booked it!
I'm sure we will enjoy it just the same! Its still Florida after all!!

Just remind them that there is sooooo much more to Florida than WalMart. [msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

WalMarts will stock some different items, depending on the local market that they are catering for, so it will be well worth your while trying the two that are on US27 and the one near Poinciana/Lake Buenavista. Your usual one is only 15 minutes away, and if your owner doesn't know the short cut to get to it from Thousand Oaks, then post on here and we'll tell you.

Thousand Oaks is really in a very convenient spot to access everywhere. A short drive to Champions Gate, the 192, I4, US27, easy access to the parks, Celebration, Old Town and Tampa or Daytona. An ideal location for anyone in my opinion as it is a minute away from us at Lake Wilson Preserve and that is why we bought in this location. There is an easy back route to the Walmart by Medieval Times but that's not my favourite Walmart. If it's food shopping you are thinking about, the Publix at Champions Gate is much better than Walmart.

I also agree with Carla that the community is very nice with lots of mature trees and planting. In my opinion, a good choice.

I too am a little biased about Thousand Oaks.[msnwink]

We receive many enquiries from guests specifically looking for Thousand Oaks, as once they have stayed there they often want to return, as it meets their needs so well.

It is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature, and a mix of residental and vacation homes.

We love it because after the hub-hub of the parks (or shopping!) you come home and relax. Many of the homes have truly private pool areas overlooking conservation and lakes.

Location wise, it's very easy to get to all the places you are likely to want to go - there are lots of different routes to choose from - make sure your owner points them out to you.

For Disney we hop one junction on the I4 or head up Old Lake Wilson Road and grab some breakfast on the way, to head east we go the way the locals go along along the 17-92 and via Poinciana boulevard.

Many guests comment on how easy it is to reach the community from the airport ( Tampa, Orlando or Sanford), without the need to hit the busier traffic areas when you are weary.

We stayed on Thousand Oaks before we bought our home and loved it. Great community. Very relaxed and close to all things.

Can anyone suggest the best place nearby for breakfast in the morning. We never really got to sample the breakfasts over there much and want to make the effort this year without having to travel too far from the villa in the morning!
