Has anyone used Virgin for travel money?
I did a search on the net for best foreign exchange rates.
Virgin Atlantic came up at 1.8084 Is there a catch?

Travelex and M&S are both offering better rates than this, Travelex is 1.8409 and M&S are 1.839

Yes, it is probably one of the worst rates around. You can get much better than that as Caroline has said.
[msnscared] i am so embarrassed[msnembarrased] I thought I was looking at a rate of 1.88[msneek] silly me, so yes I can see it is a bad rate.
Whoops

Of if you have a Nationwide credit card the rate is excellent.
I used mine last week in Florida and got rates varying between 1.874 and 1.886
Made all my essential purchases seem even more of a bargain!

I never thought I would say this but Thomson travel agents (ex Lunn Poly) are giving very good rates with no commision. I have used them twice over the last 6 weeks and they have been as good as some of the online ones. Prior to that I used online FX.

Hi
When we were looking to change our money, i enquired at M & S and the woman there pointed me into the direction of Thomas Cook with regards the rate and the AX card.
We were a bit apprehensive in using this card, so took half cash and put money on the AX card.
The card was brilliant, we used it everywhere we went, there was nowhere we went that didn't use it.
I would say try Thomascook and the AX card
Regards
Taffy
We always get a good rate with our credit card aswell. I must admit I don't tend to take much cash with me when I go.
