21/9/0Airport Baggage - New Security Arrangements

The Government is easing some of the security restrictions imposed following the security alert on 10 August.

From 02.00 tomorrow, Friday 22 September, the following changes will apply:

The maximum size of cabin baggage will be revised to 56cm (length) x 45cm (width) x 25cm (depth).

Only one bag will continue to be allowed.

Musical instruments that will not fit into hand baggage can also now be taken on board.

In addition, British Airport Authority (BAA) will allow solid cosmetics - e.g. |

Lipstick to be carried through central search.

All other restrictions continue to apply.
