American Express - accepted most places??

Hello all, how do you keep track on how much you have spent, on the AMEX card, thanks.

Hi Bill,

You can use an ATM to check your balance but there's a possibility of it being inaccurate if you use it at petrol pumps and when service charges are added as Julie has mentioned.

I intend to make a note of my purchases on the slip that comes with the card and then I can be sure what I have left.

I have to say, I still like the paper cheques more, if the rate hadn't have been so good I probably wouldn't have bothered but it will surely suit some folks very well indeed.

If you are staying somewhere with internet access you can keep a check on line.

We found this card to be very good. You can also telephone for a balance, number in the little booklet that's given with the card

We got back last week and i used this card and found it brilliant, you are asked sometimes for ID too, i couldnt use it for petrol and just one shop cant remember which one though.. i did take the nationwide debit card too as a back up. i spent all the money on the travellers check card and came home with £458 on the nationwide card
