BA economy is far better in my view. We have had a couple of bad flights with Virgin and it has taken the edge of them. They used to give you some nice extras on the flights, but these have all been cut back.

Flew PE with them this time and the cabin was empty, which was nice and the service was better. Although food is the same.

    So BA For me.

I presume you mean 'Head Sets'? You just ask them for another one.

The hansets on the Vport entertainment system are sometimes defective....I know, I have had one!! They cannot be easily rectified, you have to move seats if their is a spare seat available.

On a side note, I hate the Virgin website. If you want to pull up details of your booking you need to enter Booking Reference, Name, Date and Flight Number. Why?????? The booking reference is unique!

On flights themselves though, I echo other people's comments here - it depends! I've had good and bad with both airlines.

    Keith,

I thought you had to put in your name or thebooking ref, not both.

That's what I expected, but it kept telling me that info was missing. Only when I put in booking ref, name, date and flight number did it retrieve my booking. Unfortunately the website has been down all morning for 'essential maintenance' so I can't confirm that

Always had games on our flights plus I thought they had one of the youngest fleets around!!! Foods also been fine, perhaps you have been a bit unlucky.

In April I'll be flying to Orlando from Manchester on Virgin. On the same day my wife will be flying to Orlando from Heathrow on BA (don't ask ). Two weeks later we'll be doing the same routes in reverse so that'll be as close to a definitive comparision as you can probably get! I'll let you know...

Yes it does sound like you have been unlucky. We have started flying Virgin 15 years ago and although it is not as good as when we first started I still believe that they are the best. I have never been able to fault the service from the cabin crew.

As for the planes being old, I think you are wrong there, the do have one of the youngest fleets of Aircraft, avg 5.8 years old with 34 Aircraft. Check out the details here. http://www.airfleets.net/ageflotte/V...20Atlantic.htm
