    BA or Virgin ?

We are visiting Orlando for 3 weeks April 2007 and wonder whether anybody has any views as to flying with BA or Virgin from Gatwick, as at the moment the prices are identical and we would gratfully receive any views as to which airline to choose.
    Thanks

If you do a search you will finds loads of posts of the merits of those airlines; with mixed opinions.

Unless you fly regularly on both to Orlando it is difficult for anyone to give a meaningful comparison.

From what I have heard, on that on that particular route both airline provide a worse service than for other routes. This is mainly because it caters for the leisure flyer and not the more lucrative business flyer who they need to attract.

That is not to say either airline gives bad service.

This is a hard decision, we like them both equally. Virgin may just be a little better for famlies but we prefer the service and schedule that BA have. Not much help I'm afraid.

I used to be BA Cabin Crew (so a bit bias) but since leaving have used Virgin regularly from Manchester as well as BA from Gatwick, given the choice if the price was equal I think I would still go for BA but it would be close, Virigin in my view have lost the plot a bit lately and seem to go for young pretty crew, where as BA still go for a bit more upstairs and not just good looks[msnwink][msnwink]

Its all down to personal choice at the end of the day[msnsmile2]

We always fly BA as first choice, and then American Airlines. Virgin are on the not on your nelly list after indifferent service and staff who basically couldn't give a monkeys. Also if there are any problems - certainly from the UK end - with a plane, who has more planes that can be called into use as a back up?

We prefer BA - but that's probably because we find Virgin to be more family orientated and we don't have young children any more.

BA fly from the North terminal at Gatwick which is much quieter than the south terminal which Virgin fly from.

I have not flown with BA so can't compare them exactly but we choose to fly Virgin as they seem to have more for young children. We also love the Downtown Disney check in which basically gives you a whole day extra. I have been led to blieve the service is very similar.

If either of them choose to fly from Scotland I will be choosing to fly with them. (apart from Virgins token 10 flights a year!!!) Now that would make a difference!

We treated ourselves to virgin this year after using delta, united and north west for our previous 3 trips. I don't necessarily think virgin was any better than the other 3 airlines. Check in at MCO was slightly more pleasnt with virgin and you get a direct flight. Have never used BA so can't comment on them.

Flown with Virgin for the last 3 years. Don't have a bad thing to say against them, service has always been 110% and the crew couldn't have been more helpful. Haven't flown BA but as they say 'if ain't broke don't change it'.

Friends of ours flew with BA last year but were dissappointed so flew with Virgin this year. As people have said there is not much to choose between them so I am afraid its not much help. Virgin does have 2 flights a day from Gatwick whereas BA has one.
