Virgin - Manchester

I've just been on the Virgin website to look at flight prices for next year - just to give us an idea of what the prices are lately - and it now says that there are a choice of 2 flights out of Manchester (or at least there is on a Saturday, which is the day I was looking at).
One of them leaves at 10.15am - the one we are used to taking - and the other one leaves at 1.30pm. The same options were availabe for the return leg with the usual flight leaving at 18.15 and an alternative leaving at 20.40 and arriving in Manchester at a more decent time of 9.50am (perfect if you are considering getting a train to and from the airport as they dont start running on a Sunday morning til after 10am)
But what interested me most was that if you choose to take the earliest flight out of Manchester, and then the later return flight from Orlando, the difference in price between economy and premium economy is only £700 for a family of 4.
Now all I have to do is convince Mrs Pegasus that it would be money well spent [msnscared]

Don't forget you may also have other costs, such as car hire. Picking one up at around 1500 and dropping off at 1800 will cost a little more. It may also be worth paying for a late checkout so you can have a relaxing last day.
Saying that, you are far more likely to sleep on a flight that leaves at 2040, so could reduce the 'jet lag' feeling and arriving 0950 (0450 Florida time) is so much better for you.

$104.00 which we learnt to our expense. We did get a refund after arriving home though.

what dates are you looking at? it's just that we've booked the glw/mco flights on 7/7 and the return flight on 21/7 leaves at 20.40 (the outbound flight leaves at 15.45). as far as i know this flight will originate from and return to Manchester. maybe this is why it's so cheap since you'll have in effect a stopover each way.

I just looked at those dates you said and it does say that some of the flights go via Glasgow - and if you choose the option to go this way on the outbound and the return leg then it is the most expensive ticket of the 4 options available.
For the dates I was looking at though - which was mid May to early June - none of them go via Glasgow.
What is scary though is the ticket price goes up by nearly £300 per adult for the July flights.
And there was me thinking prices might actually go down to encourage people to fly again.
