American Airlines - Hand Luggage - Power?

    Hi,

We are due to fly to Florida in December. Given the clamp down on hand luggage various items seem to not be allowed but I presume a portable dvd player and a laptop are okay to travel and be used?

Also from my understanding of the american airlines website there is power adapters in the seats on some rows. What sort of connectors are they and were could I get the adaptors from?

Look forward to hearing from you all.

    Huw

Both allowed in cabin and can be used before leaving gate and again after takeoff when announcement is made; must not attempt to connect to internet in flight though(disable facility)

Power outlets are the normal 'car cigar lighter' type 12v adapters.

Availability from a number of sources to be found on the internet. Don't forget DC voltage for laptops varies according to make and model. My laptop is a newish Dell and is 19 volts input - cost about £20(Dell wanted £150). Make sure you get correct voltage adapter or you have a big problem.
