    Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade

We are in Orlando for Thanksgiving and my daughter wondered if Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was televised all over the States as she would like to watch it. If it is, is it always at a certain time? Just so that I can book lunch around it !!!

    Cheers

It is always shown and the whole parade/program takes about 4 to 5 hours. The show start around 9:00am with the TV hosts on a plinth outside Macy's, then you have breaks for various Broadway hits that do some of their numbers in the street outside Macy's.

You see the floats start from Central Park and then wind there way towards Macy's. If you want to watch all of it then plan for a late lunch.

Universal then use some of the floats in their pre Christmas parades in Orlando.

The Parade is awesome! We turn it on and leave it while we do stuff around the house. There are dance numbers, musical acts, high school bands and GREAT FLOATS and Balloons!

I think it is televised and well worth watching. In fact we were lucky enough to be in New York one year, over the Thanksgiving holidays, and caught the Macy's parade - it was fantastic!!

I was in the parade myself last year at Universal on the first day.
They asked for volunteers in Universal Studios to help with the Balloons etc.
    I was on the Pumpkin!

Great experience and worth doing if you get the chance!
It was extra special for me as we had just closed on our home the week before so it was like the icing on the cake to be involved with something like that!
