    Cancer Buddies Network

    Everybody knows someone with cancer.

This new website launched a few days ago. Please take a look around. One of my friends has been diagnosed with breast cancer and the mother of another of my friends with throat cancer.

Even if you're not directly or indirectly affected (as a sufferer or carer), I'd appreciate you spreading the word about this site. It's already been featured in several local newspapers, a magazine and a national newspaper (Daily Mirror). Thanks for your time!

Have just checked out the website - well done, will be spreading the word certainly - is it okay if I pass the website address onto the hospital when I go next month. The more people who network the better. Everbody's experiences are different and it is always good to talk.

Yes. Please tell anyone and everyone. There is even a page of posters, leaflets and banners on the site. These can be downloaded and printed.
    The page is www.cancerbuddiesnetwork.org/spreadtheword.php

Thanks Liz will do. I have to go to Selly Oak hospital every three months for check ups, more often if we find more melanoma's and they are always open to information, especially if it helps patients cope, so will pass on the info at my next visit.

We are going to Wexham Park Hospital next week and will take a poster then, and I will also drop one off in my local surgery. I am going into the Princess Margaret for reconstructive surgery next month, and I will give one to the breast care nurses for them to tell people about it. I also go to Bosom Friends at the Parapet Clinic at King Edward's Hospital in Windsor (which is the specialist breast unit) the first Thursday of the month so will take it along there too.

Thanks for all your promotion (from me and Jan, the founder). Don't forget that you can join too and the other buddies would love to see you there.

I've posted the address on the melanoma forum and I think a couple of people have joined.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for bringing this website to my attention, sadly I know I'm going to be needing all the support I can get very soon.

Just over 3 weeks ago my Dad was taken seriously ill. We were told last Thursday that he has Cancer which is incurable. The Doctors have given him weeks to live. As I'm sure you will appreciate this has come as a horendous shock to us all and turned our lives upside down. To say I'm feeling devastated is an understatement!

I've had a look at the website and I will be joining very soon. At the moment though, I spend every minute possible at the hospice with my Dad.

It is such a comfort to know that there are so many people who care, it restores my faith in human nature.

    Angela
