I love food shopping when I'm away...and I don't have to count the pennies..... not that I do much we just buy snacks in Orlando....we've always stayed in hotels...I like the break from bed making....and I love going overboard on the eating out.....so I've never shopped much in FL.....I'm hoping the foods cheaper there than here.......I hear people on holiday here moaning about how much the food is on the Cape in the summer.....but truth is its very costly all year round......quote:Originally posted by Nostromo

Publix is our favourite, its fresh, its all very well presented and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One thing you should try is Publix Premium Butter Pecan Ice Cream, it comes in a 1/2 gal carton and is loaded with pecans,

There was a Publix being built near our Villa....I like having a supermarket nearby.....is there any place selling English food like porkpies in Orlando.....we have a small place just off the Cape.....but its hard to get to in the summer.....I would kill for a porkpie.....lolquote:Originally posted by florida

There is usually a selection of British food incl. pork pies at the Chevron gas station at the Old Lake Wilson/CR54 junction but you may need to take out a second mortgage to by it!!

We have to drive for miles to get a porkpie.....its one thing I can't make myself.......
That Chevron also does good Pizzas that you can phone the order in in advance and go and collect. As far as I know there isn't a pizza delivery service in that area.
Aren't you banned from taking any foodstuffs into the US, we have been asked about baby food when travelling with babies. We did have some and we got through, just denying all knowledge, but I think they are fairly strict on this stuff.quote:

Manninos Pizza on us27 close to I4 junction 54 said they would deliver to that area(Thousand Oaks)they also said they had never been asked before.We didnt get a chance to check them out though,I did manage to pick up some menus from them to leave at the Villa for renters to use and guess where they are now? Yep still in my bag here beside me in UK !
