    Itinerary Help!

    Hi

We are off to Florida in two weeks and we are trying to plan an itinerary. Has anyone got any hints or tips about what days are best to visit the theme parks (also which days to avoid). We want to see the fantasmic show and would love to know which day would be best. If anyone has any ideas on what we should definately fit in we would be most grateful.

    Thanks [8D]

Are you taking children with you? Weekends will be busier than during the week, and IOA very busy with teenagers! Malls will also be busier during the weekend, but the US schools will have started back by then, but Brits are there as it is still school holidays for us.

Does anyone know if the sales tax sale is on this year? It's usually the first week of August if it is on. With the sales can be worth quite a good deal.

    I found this guide on Disney's site which may help;

    Q. What are the busiest and least busy times of the year?

    A. Although special events and promotions may influence our Theme Park attendance levels, the following list highlights historic attendance trends throughout the year:

    Lowest Attendance:
January (except New Year's Day) until just prior to Presidents' week in February
The week following Labor Day until just prior to Thanksgiving week
The week following Thanksgiving until the week prior to Christmas

    Moderate Attendance:
After Presidents' week in February through early March
Late April through early June (except Memorial Day weekend)
The first part of Thanksgiving week

    Highest Attendance:
    Presidents' week in February
Mid-March through Late April ("Spring Break")
    Memorial Day weekend
    Mid-June through Labor Day
    Thanksgiving Day and weekend
Christmas week through New Year's Day

Also, during regular attendance periods, our Parks tend to be the busiest on the following days:

Magic Kingdom® Park: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday
    Epcot® : Tuesday and Friday
    Disney-MGM Studios: Sunday and Wednesday
Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Not all US schools have the same time off....or the same amount.....my son gets nearly 3 months off.june till sept....so most of the people from round here are off to Orlando in the next month....

    Thanks for the attendance list.

Just a thought tho, if everyone chooses a "low attendance" day to visit a park, because it's quiet, wont that defeat the object ?

As mentioned above try and avoid the weekends if at all possible.

I would go shopping or relax by the pool on these days, even if you are going for 14 days, by the time you have visited Disney's MK / AK / MGM / Epcot and the water parks, not to mentioned Universal Studios / Islands of Adventure and Seaworld and with a couple of rest days, it'll be time to come back home again.

My advice to avoid the crowds, is to get into the parks as early as you can and if you are staying near or on Disney then leave early afternoon, go back to the Hotel / Villa for a rest and then revisit the parks in the evening when it should be less crowded.

Even if the parks are busy, you can make use of the Fast Pass System, which should cut down on the waiting time and there is always plenty going on to keep the mind off the waiting in line.

Which ever days you go, I am sure you will have great time.

Thanks. We have 2 teenage children, so we know IOA is a must again. Now managed to work out an itinerary, but found it difficult to fit it all in. Probably won't go to plan anyway.

Using mapquest for directions, it always asks for your destination address. So you can't just type in Disney, Epcot etc, as it seems to want to know the exact address. Can anyone tell us how we find this out?

    Thanks again

If you put in 'World Center Drive' to Mapquest as your destination, this is one of the main routes in the 46 square miles that is Walt Disney World. You'll find all the different Disney parks are well signposted from there.

Alternatively, there are also well signposted turn offs to all the Disney parks, Seaworld and Universal Studios from the Interstate 4 (I4). Disney Parks are also well signposted from Highway 192 west.

If you're staying in a home from a private owner, then you'll probably find that they will provide all the driving directions you'll need to get to all the parks.

From the disney website you can find out which days are early opening for disney resort hotel guests. These are days when they get in to the park early so the park tends to be busy that day. One piece of advice someone gave us was if the Magic Kingdom had early opening on a Monday go on a Tuesday as most of the resort guests will be elsewhere.
