Here we go again - The Final Chapter

    Saturday 5th August 06
This morning we loaded up the car again and checked out of our Cocoa Beach home. As we could not check into our next home until later we decided to spend the day at the Ron Johns Resort at Cocoa beach as we had a day pass. We managed to spend 6 hours playing water volleyball - great fun for all involved ( yes even me) although Lee and the boys were looking a bit prune like by the time they left the pool.
In the car and headed back alone the Beachline to Orlando and check into Regal Palms Resort.
Had dinner on site while the kids chilled in the games room and a guy was playing guitar and singing in the club house before crashing into bed.

    Sunday 7th August 06
Had a slow start ( back to the usual lie in's for us) before heading down to the communal pool for a swim armed with our rubber rings for floating round the lazy river. Pool was not too busy so was quite relaxing. Then headed back to the villa for some lunch before heading out to the cinema at the Loop to see Barnyard. Hve to say that the film was very funny. This was followed by some Ben and Gerry icecream before heading home for an early night.

    Monday 7th August 06
Early start again as Lee was playing golf at Champions Gate with some friends so it was up to me to make sure he made it ontime. Our neighbours from home had arrived at the weekend and Lee was playing golf with hubby while their son was coming over to us and having the morning skateboarding at Vans with my two boys. But first it was time for a swim as the Skatepark session did not begin until 12.
After this I took the boys for some skateboard time before we headed over to the villa they had rented to meet up and have a BBQ.
The hubby's had had a great morning on the golf course although it was a little hot. They were helped to stay cool by the chap driving round in his golf cart with frozen towels in a box to help refresh the flagging golfer.
Back at the friends villa it was all in the pool to cool off while the food was cooked and lots of beer and wine was drunk.[beer]
Great way to spend the evening and the BBQ was then cleaned and left in the garage Liz [msnwink]

    Tuesday 8th August 06
Another early start as Lee was feeling keen and had agreed to play Highlands REserve golf with his friends from work who were also over this week. For the rest of us it was a slow start at home and then after collecting Lee we headed over to Ceri's gorgeous house for the OV get together. Had a wonderful time and thankfully it was close enough for us to walk home as ceri makes a mean Mohito and I think I may have had one or two [beer] Thanks again for having us and it was lovely to meet up with people we "talk" to here.

Today we tried somewhere we have not been before. The Orlando waterpsort and Wakeboard Centre. This is a fantastic facility Just off the OBT and 528. It is a lake with pylons set round and offers water skiing, wake boarding and knee skiing. If you are ecpereinced it also has a great obstacle course for the skier who knows what he is doing.
As we do not know what we are doing Spiff and Samo each had a 45 minute lesson with a great guy who had them skiing from scratch before they had a couple of hours to do their own thing. Samo started wakeboarding but found it a little to hard so went to knee skiing and was soon going round the lake 3 or 4 times non stop.
Spiff had never wakebarded before but after some great coaching he was able to ski the lake. Even Lee was able to wakeboard [msnsmile2]

We then headed home to get changed as we were off to the work mates villa for - - yes you guessed it - another BBQ [msnsmile2] My life has just become one great social whirl [beer] A great evening was spent by all and again the kids seemed to spend most of it in our friends pool! There was some very tuneful [msneek] singing to various country songs we heard on the radio and lots of beer was quaffed before we headed back to our beds at midnight.

Sounds great Jan, can I just ask, where is Vans?? My son loves skateboarding and the only place we thought had a skate park was Tampa, this was when we went two years ago, he would love to do this on our trip next year[msnsmile2]
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vicky

Vans Skate Park is in the Festival Bay Mall at the top of the I Drive. The same complex as Ron Johns and Outdoor World.
You can hire all the equipment there and the sessions run from 12 at 2 hours at a time.

This is just one small area. They also have a huge half pike, an indoor and outdoor bowl and lots more ramps of various sizes.
