Thursday 3rd August
Today was Commander Spiffs birthday so we ahd an even earlier start so he could open his presents. He was very pleased with the new Skateboard deck, trucks and wheels we had bought for him at Vans as well as his new Tony Hawks XBox 360 Game that Samo had for him.
Then it was in the car and off to camp. Today they were building moon buggy's and having Robot Wars as well as meeting a Real AStronaut at lunch time ( sorry mum can't remember which one it was!)
Then back to the beach for some more body boarding and dinner on the pier before falling into bed exhausted.
Friday 4th August 06
Last day at Space Camp and it was Commander Samo's turn to try and fly a successful mission before it was time for the Graduation ceromony. All parents duley arrived armed with cameras and video to watch our little Space Cadets get their certificates, Free family passes to Kennady and watch the DVD of the week they had had. All great stuff. Apparently Samo had managed a 'creative' landing [msneek] so his mission also did not quite go according to plan.
The evening was spent with some more surfing and then Spiff headed out for dinner with some of his new friends who lived locally while the rest of us went to the old favorite of the Pier. When Spiff got back there was more surfing but this time in the dark![msneek] We then had to head back to the apartment for some packing as tomorrow we were heading back to Orlando.
All in all we would really recommend Space Camp ( or Camp KSC as it is officially known) to all. It was great value and the kids loved it. Spiff is not known for his liking of science but he and Samo came home every evening really buzzing and full of enthusiasum for the stuff they had learnt. The Camp is for ages 8 - 14 and runs from June through to mid August. Tru it out - your kids will love it and you will have time alone [msnsmile2]
