Me and the good wife fly out week on thursday (24th) and to be honest I feel better about it than before, why do we get in a panic about flying 2-3 times a year and think it will happen to us! Think of the cabin crew on board the plane, they do it just about every day as a job, if its ok for them its sure ok for us.

I absolutely agree with what everyone else has posted here....just go and enjoy you're holiday and don't let it worry you.

The US are doing the same with hand luggage as us. May well become the norm I think!

I'm more or less certain that they're not Joyce, which is why I asked the question.

No - they allow hand luggage as long as it does not contain any liquids or gels. I'm not sure about electronics but they did allow my bass guitar so maybe electrics are allowed. I did not see anyone with an iPod but we were up front so only saw about 10 passengers for the whole flight [msnsmile2].

Sorry to go off at slight tangent here John (can't DM you) but are Virgin prohibiting hand luggage and electrical devices on flights from the US as well?

Virgin from the US definitely are allowing hand luggage.

I read either another thread or an airline site they were so its good if not the case. Could be that it has been airline dependent.

Frightened to fly? No way - possibly the safest time to fly!
