Paul, don't be such a wimp. You are more likely to be killed crossing the road than in an air accident. Why on earth let some miserable terrorists spoil your holidays. Remember you won't get a refund on your tickets or you accommodation just because you are scared, why lose out.

Because of the recent arrests, improved intelligence and enhanced security, flying today is safer than it was a few days ago.

    Enjoy your trip!

I just find flying boring....and I hate it when the plane bumps around a bit...I have very bad panic attacks...and none of that everyday stuff stops me flying....

My son flew in today. Was 1hr 15mins late taking off but arrived on time.

Still the safest form of transport.

The lack of hand luggage was a bit of a nuisance at first but to be honest it meant I actually had some sleep rather than sat there fiddling with my iPod etc etc.

Sorry to go off at slight tangent here John (can't DM you) but are Virgin prohibiting hand luggage and electrical devices on flights from the US as well?

The US are doing the same with hand luggage as us. May well become the norm I think!
Have a good holiday - still more likely to win the jackpot on the lottery than have an incident in a plane!!
