What to do with overnight bags?

On recent trips to Florida, we have used twilight check-in and stayed in a hotel overnight.

This meant taking our overnight bits and pieces in our hand luggage. Now that the hand luggage rules have changed has anyone got a solution as to what to do with the overnight things!

Wear your oldest underwear and dispose of it.

If you can get hold of any flight kits that contain toothbrushes and mini toothpases etc. take those and throw away.

We had the same discussion today and decided that the best thing would be wear old underwear/nightwear and take a couple of the Virgin toothbrushes with us and get rid of them in the morning as we don't want to have to face a second queue in the morning to check in overnight bag. For those who park their car it's not a problem but we don't drive to/from te airport.

Wonder what the hotel staff will think of all the abandoned clothing they will no doubt find

Steph, perhaps hotels will start having clothing recyling bins in their car parks for all those items you can no longer carry as hand luggage.

Doesn't clothing for recycling need to be washed first [msneek]

Can't say I 'd like the job of whoever has to empty that bin on a daily basis if it is full of dirty underwear [:O]

It looks like it may well be ok by the time we travel anyway as they are gradually lifting the restrictions and hopefully will have the new ones in place by next Thursday at the larger airports.

At least we should be allowed our handbags and digital cameras

Pop them in a large envelope and post them back to yourself!
