Hi guys - I've just had my signature replaced with the {No Slogans] message. I then found the rules listed above.
While I understand the restrictions on adverts, I was wondering what the reason was for the very strict controls on signatures. My 'slogan' wasn't really an advert as such.
I ask mainly because as an admin of another board, I wondered if I was missing a trick in having much more relaxed rules on signatures.
(Not criticising or questioning the rules... just curious!!)
Mainly because some people started having signatures longer than their posts and advertising started creeping in too so it's easier to have a 'no slogan or advertising' or 'name only' rule that applies to everyone (advertisers on the OV sites can also have a link to their OV advert only) rather than Admins and Mods trying to keep up with some very inventive offerings.
John (Floridadreamvilla.co.uk) and Roger (board owners) have website links in their signatures as does Martin (Florida4sun) who is our park ticket guru, in case you come across one of them and wonder why they're allowed.
If you're an admin on another board then it would depend on your board policies I assume.
