No more Glasgow-Chicago flights

American Airlines have announced that its summer service from Glasgow to Chicago will end on 30 September and not return next year.

On the back of the withrawal of Manchester-Miami, Newcastle-New York and a big question mark against Manchester-Boston returning, I'm wondering how long it will be before American only operate in the UK out of London.

This is a good question. I think that they need to start going direct to Orlando as that is where the business is. There is so little summer flights to Florida it really makes me wonder why the larger airlines don't start these routes.

I don't think it is where the profitable business is(bus/FC + cargo)
Also it is not a 'Gateway' airport for most major airlines(except BA and Virgin)

American still do the Manchester to Chicago route and have done for many years now as i remember doing this route many times nearly 20 years ago
