The Macs holiday report Part 4

Well thats one week down - 1 and a half to go!

Day 8 - Off to Animal Kingdom today on a very hot day. Straight to Kilimanjaro Safaris for the trip through the African savannah and then enjoyed the shade walking round the Pangani Forest trail seeing more animals on the way. A quick drink and snack in the Harambe restaurant then onto the Wildlife Express train to Planet Watch where again it was nice to get inside to the air conditioning for a cool down! Tried to get on Kali river rapids but even fastpass was hours away so just continued round to watch Expedition Everest - too chicken to go on it but enjoyed hearing the screams! Round to Dinoland USA where we went on Triceratop Spin for a laugh (yes i know it is meant for kiddies but Craig and lyndsey wanted to have a go!!) then Barry and Lyndsey went onto Primeval Whirl while Craig and I tried to find a cool spot somewhere as the heat was really getting unbearable. Stayed in park til 3.30pm (temp in car was 101 degrees) then back to villa for a much needed cool down in pool then after showering off to Dennys for tea. This is one of our favourite places to eat. To Kissimmee Old Town for the Saturday Car Cruise - hubby and sons heaven!! - my daughter and i enjoy looking in the various shops. Back to villa for usual few beers then collapsed into bed.

Day 9 - Got up a bit later today as early rises catching up with us then off to Downtown Disney for a wander and a Mcdonalds for lunch. back to villa for a pool afternoon and got pizza delivered for tea. I do enjoy these quieter days now and again just to relax and enjoy the sun.

Day 10 - Off to Seaworld today which is another of my favourites. We had bought a one day ticket from this website but there was an offer that you could add an extra 6 days onto the ticket for free which we did at the gate. This was great as we went back a few more times in our last week really for free! Craig wanted to have his lunch with the sharks so we headed to the Sharks Underwater Grill first to book a table. Luckily we were there early and managed to get a table for 12 so we headed off and watched Blue Horizons show with the dolphins which was very good then saw the penguins and then the shark encounter. Off for lunch now at the underwater grill which was a bit expensive for lunch but nice food - Lyndsey didn't enjoy eating her lunch with the fish swimming so close so sat with her back towards the glass the whole time![msnscared] Up the Sky Tower after lunch which we enjoyed and had a great view of the park and beyond. We were lucky though as we just got off and they closed it due to an incoming storm! Round to Wild Arctic to see polar bears and walruses then headed home before rain started. Race Rock for tea tonight which again is another favourite especially of Craig as he loves all the games and cars - i just love the food!!

Day 11 - Typhoon Lagoon today which i wasn't really sure whether i would enjoy or not , wandering round in my swimsuit with lots of strangers but it was GREAT!! No-one is bothered about what you look like as everyone is dressed the same! We dumped everything in a locker then headed off to the Castaway Creek which i think was our favourite - Craig just jumped out of his ring with his armbands and floated along with us following. He was just below the maximum height for the kiddies section so could go on the raft ride there happily. We were all going to go on the family raft ride but there was over an hours wait which is too long in that heat - next time! Lovely food from the Snack Shack for lunch then into the surf pool to get washed away by an enormous wave - we just stayed quite near the shore as the wave is really strong! Another great day had by all - off to Dennys for tea and back to villa for a night cap.

Sounds like you had a bit more relaxing 2nd week. We didn't get to Typhoon Lagoon. I'd like to do it next time - if there is a next time.
